Melbourne, Australia: Nine Commentaries English Forum Attracts People from Various Communities (Photos)

(Clearwisdom.net) On the night of June 20, 2007, The Epoch Times held an English forum on the Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party at the National Civic Council in North Melbourne. More than 100 people from different communities attended.

The speakers included Peter Westmore, president of the National Civic Council, Xiao Zhonghua, spokesman for the Coalition to Investigate the Persecution of Falun Gong (CIPFG), Dai Zhizhen, winner of "The Turtle Award"--an award for humanitarianism, and Kati Vereshaka, editor of The Epoch Times. Speakers discussed the disasters that the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) have brought to China and the world, and the trend of quitting the party in China.

The audience showed great interest in the topics of organ harvesting and the role that the CCP is playing in Sudan. The forum, which was scheduled to end in three hours, lasted for four and a half hours.

Xiao Zhonghua, spokesman for the CIPFG, reported the details of the CCP's organ harvesting. He introduced the activity of "human rights torch relay" and called upon the attendees to support the efforts being made against the persecution.

Mr. Xiao told reporters after the forum that the CCP has been controlling the overseas Chinese student organizations for a long time. He pointed out that the overseas Chinese fear the CCP, and the Australian government is responsible for stopping the CCP's infiltration.

Mr. Xiao called upon the Chinese people who are controlled by the CCP and work for it, to think about their future and not to stain their records.

Ms. Francis, a member of an NGO, told this reporter that she learned a lot from the forum. The most impressive information that Ms. Francis learned from the forum was the story of Dai Zhizhen and her husband, and the relationship between the Chinese government and Sudan. She said that the image of China in her mind was bright and positive, and from the forum she learned that many Chinese people are living very poor lives.

She said that the Australian government should take action to stop the persecution in China and help speed up the democratization in China.

A Korean student said that she had lived in China for a year, and during that year she watched TV every day, but never heard any negative news about China. She said that she realizes now it was the way the CCP controls people. She said that she learned many things which she never knew about from the forum, and she thanked the organizers for bringing the truth to her.
