Jewelry designer Lin Qianying said that color-matching is the most difficult part of jewelry design. The Divine Performing Art's show inspired her.

Purifying and Inspiring

Ms. Lin has been designing jewelry for decades and is famous for blending traditional Chinese style with modern designs, which makes her artwork appeal to collectors favoring both the ancient and the modern. She said that, besides the shape, color-matching is the most difficult part in jewelry design. The Divine Performing Art's show gave her inspiration in color matching.

Ms. Lin said she liked "Nymphs of the Sea" and the fan dance "Lightness and Grace" the most. She said the choreographer in "Nymphs of the Sea used the fans so successfully that it gave her a feeling of moving waves and the beauty of rhythm. In "Lightness and Grace," the colors of the costumes moved her heart for "an inexpressible reason".

She said the show gave her the inspiration to create new artwork, which was the direct result of a purified heart. "My new designs will be different from the past, I am sure of it." she said.

Music and Motivation

Ms. Lin praised the music , too. The most impressive music to her was from "Lady of the Moon." When Chang E and her husband obtained the medicine to go to heaven, they danced a duet. "I liked this piece of music very very much. It pops into my mind again and again. Its unforgettable."

As for the song "Learning the Truth," the words touched her heart. "It seems that suddenly I forgot who I was and where I was. I was uplifted from reality. It was a great song."

Lin said she had heard the song "Be Saved" in last year's show, but this time the projected lyrics on the background moved her deeply. "I must be diligent after I go back to my work. Seeing the Divine Performing Arts has motivated me to make more progress in both life and art."
