Mr. Zhang Shunjie from Weizhou Town, Wei County, Hebei Province, Died as a Result of Severe Persecution

March 03, 2008 |

(Clearwisdom.net) Mr. Zhang Shunjie, 41 years old, lived in the South Guandong Area, Weizhou Town, Wei County, Hebei Province. Because he refused to give up the practice of Falun Gong, he was persecuted many times by the agents of the 610 Office of Wei County, the Police Department of Wei County, Wei County Detention Center, Wei County Brainwashing Center, Wei County Xiheying Police Station, Wei County Xiheying Town Xihe Village, Weizhou Town Police Station joint unit, and so on. Mr. Zhang suffered from many serious diseases such as cerebral hemorrhage, heart disease, and pneumonia, and for several years he frequently felt dizzy, experienced chest pain, spit up blood, had asthma, etc. Over time these symptoms became more severe. On December 15, 2007, Mr. Zhang Shunjie died an unjust death due to the persecution.

On the evening of February 25, 2002 (the 14th day after Chinese New Year), when Mr. Zhang was rescuing a local practitioner who was being persecuted, he was pursued by personnel from the Xihe Village Division, Xiheying Town, Wei County, Weizhou Town Police Station, and county Xiguan Village Commission. The officials pounded on the door, threw stones into the yard, and later invaded his home, and forcefully took Mr. Zhang Shunjie to Xihe Village headquarters in Xiheying Town. Xiheying Town employee Gao Dequan (male) fiercely slapped Mr. Zhang. Xihe Village CCP Secretary Wang Sui (male) smashed his hand with a broom handle and then pushed him into another room and turned off the lights. A group of people gathered around him and beat him mercilessly. When Mr. Zhang fell down from being beaten he was pulled up and beaten again. This went on until 2 a.m. the next morning. When the attackers got tired, they took him to a room in Xiheying Town and handcuffed him to a table. He was unable to stand or squat and his back was bent.

The next morning, Wang Xizhen (male) attacked Mr. Zhang by hitting him in the face with a wooden stove clasp. He then heated the stove clasp until it was red hot and used it to burn Mr. Zhang's hand. Mr. Zhang had many scars on his hands from the burns. The mayor of Xiheying Town, Jia Zhongcheng (male), who has since been transferred to the Wei County Civil Administration Bureau, burned Mr. Zhang Shunjie's face with a cigarette and also poured boiling water on his head. A short person wearing a judicial system uniform shouted, "We will harass your family until they have nothing left!

After 9 a. m. in the morning, the local police station officer sat Mr. Zhang in a chair, handcuffed him to it, then grabbed a large sized electric baton. They pulled his clothes up in the back and shocked him with the baton. The baton was also inserted into his pants and mouth causing his lips to turn black from the burns. Mr. Zhang's hands were twisted behind his back, and he was handcuffed in that position, causing him unbearable pain. At noon the police handcuffed him to a telephone pole behind the town courtyard. Mr. Zhang went on a hunger strike to protest. Ni Jian'gong (male) from the local police station used a chain and some handcuffs to whip Mr. Zhang's lower back. Wang violently beat Mr. Zhang with an electric baton and did not stop even after the baton broke in two.

The beatings continued into the afternoon. Wang, from the local police station, grabbed a book and put it on Mr. Zhang's chest to practice boxing. He then used it to hit him in the face, making Mr. Zhang's nose bleed. The beating did not stop. The police took an arm-thick wooden stick to beat him. After the stick broke, they poked him in the chest with the sharp end. They pounded his feet with a heavy item, possibly a stone or a brick. They poured cold water down his collar and all over him, which caused scars to form over his entire body. Mr. Zhang experienced a great deal of pain because of the winter temperatures.

Mr. Zhang nearly passed out from the torture. The backs of his hands severely swelled up from the beatings. The palms of his hands and his body had been burned by the stove hook and cigarette butts. His skin was burned and black where he had been shocked with electric batons. He had wounds over his entire body and he was in a constant sweat. The police got worried and called in a doctor to monitor Mr. Zhang's pulse. The doctor discovered that he had an abnormal heart symptom.

On the second day the police informed his family that he would be released for 5000 yuan. When they saw how badly he had been tortured, they said, "Mr. Zhang did not violate the law, but you severely beat him, and still you ask us for money. We do not have this amount of money." The police realized they could not extort any money from them so Mr. Zhang was taken to the County Detention Center again.

As soon as he arrived at the detention center, the guards took off all of his clothes and soaked him in cold water on a cold winter day. Mr. Zhang was forced to the ground and was whipped across the buttocks with new shoes that the guards called a "noodle knife." Mr. Zhang's head was forced into a chamber pot containing feces and urine. After being tortured for 50 days, Mr Zhang was released after the police extorted nearly 5000 yuan.

In the end of October 2002 , on the eve of the CCP's 16th Conference, Fan (male) from Weizhou Town Police Station joint defense unit again led some people to invade Mr. Zhang Shunjie's home. After ruthlessly beating Mr. Zhang, they took him to Weizhou Town Police Station joint defense unit, handcuffed him the the radiator for two days and nights. Mr. Zhang was later imprisoned at the brainwashing center established by the County 610 Office for over 20 days. Mr. Zhang suffered innumerable tortures.

Continuous inhuman torture seriously injured and finally crippled him. For several years, Mr. Zhang frequently, for no reason at all, experienced dizziness, difficulty breathing, chest pain, spitting up blood, asthma, and so on. His entire family depends on his wife's earnings and assistance from relatives and friends to live on.

Mr. Zhang Shunjie died an unnecessary death. The CCP has destroyed another good family. What will his wife and three underage children live on?

We hope kind people clearly recognize the evil nature of the Party as evidenced by the brutal treatment of Mr. Zhang Shunjie, and will help stop this evil persecution.
