(Clearwisdom.net) On February 15, 2008, Czech Minister of Finance Miroslav Kalousek signed the petition calling for an immediate end to the persecution of Falun Gong in China. In a letter sent to the Czech Association of Falun Gong, minister Kalousek stated: "It is my honour to sign this petition of yours. Allow me to express my gratitude for your efforts to protect human rights in China."

At the same time, the Czech Falun Dafa Association received a letter from the Czech Minister of Education, Youth and Sports, Ondřej Liška, in which he states: "I would like to assure you that hearing about the Falun Gong's persecution in China doesn't leave me unmoved. I have observed this dilemma very closely and continually. I would like to use this way to support all Chinese citizens who are denied their rights. I am well aware of China's dramatic changes in recent years. Improvements in the social and legal status of Chinese citizens however have not kept pace with economic development. I am convinced that at present Chinese economic development is in certain spheres in contradiction and is taking place at the expense of basic human rights. With true concern I have observed the reports about Falun Gong's persecution in China."

After last year's letter of support for Falun Gong by Czech Vice Premier Alexandr Vondra, these two Czech cabinet members' letters make yet another contribution toward ending the persecution of Falun Gong in China.
