(Clearwisdom.net) The Divine Performing Arts (DPA) graced Canada's Technology Triangle Kitchener-Waterloo-Cambridge from Jan. 6 to Jan. 7, 2009. The audience was deeply touched by the show. Nina, originally from the Mainland China, talked to the reporter enthusiastically about the pleasant surprise the show brought her.

Audience in Kitchener-Waterloo-Cambridge absorbed to the DPA show.

Nina is a database developer. She bought tickets for her family a month before and they had been looking forward to the DPA show.

"It is such a treat of beauty! The DPA revived our five-thousand-year-old legends and culture through classical dance and music within two hours! It showed us, including us Chinese, the profoundness of the Chinese culture."

Nina was amazed at the talent of the costume designers, the performers, the choreographers and overall coordinators. "The costumes and accessories are gorgeous! Like in the 'Dance of the Yi.' I love dancing. My daughter does ballet. I have seen many Yi ethnic dances, but had never seen such beautiful skirts and fairy dance! I could never imagine such smooth and elegant dance formations and transitions!"

Nina admired the young dancers' deep understanding of traditional culture. "They look so young, but their skills are so outstanding! They were raised outside of China, but have such passion for traditional Chinese culture! They know the meaning of the legends and play them out vividly! They are great!... When I was a child, we kids followed adults to temples to worship Buddhas. Buddha Law has been teaching people virtue and compassion since ancient times. It gives us a place of hope and peace. It is our culture, tradition and roots. It is needed by everyone, especially when we are far away from the motherland. The DPA show presented the marrow of our tradition and culture and brought our roots back."

The show made Nina very proud to be Chinese. She is full of gratitude for DPA artists' hard work in spreading traditional Chinese culture around the world.

Nina didn't know much about Falun Gong before and didn't understand why it is persecuted in China. She gained deeper understanding of Falun Gong through the show. "Truthfulness, Compassion and Forbearance are great of course! We should tell the truth. We need compassion and tolerance. If everyone follows it, the society will have hope! Everyone who has watched the show should spread it [the compassion]. Individually we are only a drop of water, but we will become an ocean when gathered."
