(Clearwisdom.net) Soon after I graduated from college, during the most intense period of persecution against Falun Dafa, I often saw truth-clarification materials wherever I went. Although the materials only contained a few sentences, I got the sense that the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) had some hidden agenda behind the persecution, other than what was portrayed in the propaganda. To see practitioners out in public explaining the facts about Falun Dafa slowly motivated me to learn more about it.
The CCP often "criticized" Falun Dafa using underhanded means, even as it prevented anyone from learning about it through mainstream sources. They smeared the image of Dafa, portraying it as a "feudalistic superstition" and encouraged Chinese people to perceive practitioners as low-level, unsuccessful, and anti-China. When I look back, I feel ashamed of myself for following and believing the propaganda. I also got scared when everyone around me was trying to find materials about Falun Gong. I even thought about reporting them to the authorities.
When practitioners' clarify the truth, the impact on ordinary people can be powerful and immediate, or the process may be gradual. Although it may appear to be ineffective on the surface, it will undoubtedly sow a seed of compassion. A practitioners' efforts to explain the facts about Dafa can enable a being that is walking down a wrong path to correct his or her steps and walk the path of Dafa; that is something extraordinary. From the change in my attitude toward Dafa, to the day I became a practitioner, it was all made possible by countless practitioners explaining the true situation to me in different ways.
Don't be afraid that your explaining the facts might seem to have little or no effect. We are here to assist Master with Fa rectification, and this is a requirement of Fa rectification and a requirement of the cosmos. Although we perform specific acts, it is Dafa that makes them effective. Clarifying the truth should be simple and candid, without any human concepts or techniques.
The purpose of truth-clarification is to validate the Fa, and it will naturally carry the Fa's power. In the process, do not worry about whether your reasoning will convince the other person. If you believe your reasoning must make a solid impression or that it has to hit the nail right on the head, that will be an attachment. How can the proper effect be achieved through mere eloquence or through the power of an ordinary person? "Yours is qi, and his is qi─and when you send out qi it's going to heal him? Maybe his qi will actually overpower yours! One qi can't suppress another." (Zhuan Falun)
Saving sentient beings is a manifestation of Fa rectification and encompasses every being. Every person in this world must establish his or her attitude toward Dafa, without exception. No matter who the person, their status or wealth, nobody will be excluded.
