(Clearwisdom.net) Today's News from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 23 cities or counties in 12 provinces. In this report, 42 practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention and at least 30 practitioners were illegally arrested.
1. [Gaomi City, Shandong Province] Additional Information on the Arrests of Mr. Wang Dejun and His Wife Ms. Wang Xianglan
Mr. Wang Dejun and his wife Ms. Wang Xianglan, both in their forties, have been forced to leave their hometown. On August 31, 2009, the domestic security police and officers from the Jiangzhuang and Nanguan police stations took the couple into custody at their rented house.
Several police officers surrounded Ms. Wang and beat her until she passed out. The officers then carried her to a car and took her to a detention center. She was chained to a steel chair for over 48 hours without being allowed to sleep. Domestic security officers and officers from the Jiangzhuang Police Station continuously tortured her during the interrogations. Ms. Wang suffered pain all over her body, and threw up whenever she ate, or drank water. Her husband was tied to a steel chair for three days and deprived of sleep. The police also confiscated two motorcycles, a scooter, and over 1,000 yuan in cash.
2. [Gaomi City, Shandong Province] Mr. Sui Qinggui, Ms. Liu Yun and Ms. Cai Yuzhen Sentenced to Forced Labor
On September 11, 2009, Mr. Sui Qinggui, Ms. Liu Yun and Ms. Cai Yuzhen were taken to the Wangcun Forced Labor Camp, to serve 15 months, 14 months, and 12 months of forced labor. Mr. Sui and Ms. Cai did not pass the physical examination. They were taken back to Gaomi City and released the same night.
3. [Shandong Province] Practitioners Held for Extended Period at Gaomi City Detention Center
On February 27-28 of this year, Mr. Xue Jiagui, Ms. Zhang Guizhi, Ms. Mao Yongfang, Ms. Mao Yongchun, Ms. Ren Ying, Mr. Guo Hongfa, and Mr. Hu Juben were taken from their homes to a detention center. The practitioners are facing prison terms and have been placed on trial several times.
Mr. Guo is not able to walk as a result of police abuse. Ms. Mao's left foot has turned numb, and she has difficulty walking, nonetheless she is still forced to perform slave labor. She is deprived of sleep if she fails to finish the daily workload.

5. [Tai'an City, Shandong Province] Mr. Zuo Yongtai Detained
At 11:00 a.m. on September 14, six people from the Daiyue District Police Department and Aerospace Special Vehicles Company in Tai'an City broke into Mr. Zuo Yongtai's home. They searched his home and took him into custody. Mr. Zuo has been placed in detention. He is being held at the Daiyue District Police Department.

6. [Kunming City, Yunnan Province] Ms. Yang Jufen and Ms. Gao Yunfen Detained
On September 4, 2009, Ms. Yang Jufen and Ms. Gao Yunfen were deceived by officers from the police station of the Kunming Lathe Factory and were presumedly arrested, as they have not returned home.
7. [Daqing City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Wu Fengqin, Ms. Bi Xiuli and Mr. Wei Xinmin Arrested at Their Homes on the Evening of September 15
8. [Tianjin] Ms. Li Wenjing Arrested
On September 11, 2009, Ms. Li Wenjing was arrested at her home by agents from the Dongli District 610 Office and domestic security officers. The police searched her home and confiscated a personal computer, a printer, and Falun Dafa books. Ms. Li is being held at the Fengniancun Detention Center in Dongli District.
9. [Rongcheng City, Shandong Province] Additional Information on the Arrests of Ms. Lian Guilan and Ms. Bi Cuifen
Ms. Lian Guilan, 61, and Ms. Bi Cuifen, 58, are retired workers from Rongcheng City. On September 14, 2009, they were telling others about the persecution of Falun Gong, in the Shidao residential community. At around noon, they were taken into custody by officers from the Shidao Police Department. At 1:30 p.m., the police searched their homes. They confiscated Falun Dafa books and portraits of the founder of Falun Gong. That evening, the two practitioners were sent to the Rongcheng City Detention Center.

10. [Dingzhou City, Hebei Province] Ms. Jing Shuqin Arrested
On September 12, Ms. Jing Shuqin, an employee at the Dingzhou Passenger Buses Factory, was turned in to the police while telling others about the persecution of Falun Gong. She is being held at a detention center.

11. [Beijing] Ms. Wang Zhaoying Arrested
Early September, Ms. Wang Zhaoying, from Paiziling Village in Qianjiadian Town, Yanqing County, was taken into custody for telling others about the persecution on a bus. She is being held at the Yanqing Detention Center.
12. [Jiaozhou City, Shandong Province] Ms. Wei Xiufeng Manages to Walk Away from Police Custody
On the morning of September 15, Ms. Wei Xifeng, in Ligezhuang Town of Jiaozhou City, was arrested by officers from the Ligezhuang Town Police Department for clarifying the truth. At around 12:30 p.m., the police searched her home. They confiscated a computer, a printer and other personal belongings. Ms. Wei walked away from police custody that night.
13. [Taiyuan City, Shanxi Province] Ms. Wang Ziqing and Ms. Wang Cuilan Detained
On September 2, 2009, Ms. Wang Ziqing and Ms. Wang Cuilan at Xishan No. 1 High School in Taiyuan City were taken into custody by officers from the Qianfeng Police Station. The police searched the two practitioners' homes. The two practitioners are being held at the Xishan Women's Detention Center.
14. [Jilin City, Jilin Province] Ms. Zhang Junying Arrested Again
Ms. Zhang Junying, 60, is a retired employee of the Jiangbei Auto Parts Factory in Jilin City. On the afternoon of September 15, 2009, officers from the Longtan Police Department and the Shanqian Police Station in Jilin City arrested her at her home.
Ms. Zhang has been taken into custody from her home three times during the past four years.

15. [Heilongjiang Province] Mr. Li Zhigang Remains in Custody at Nangang District Detention Center in Harbin City
On February 28, 2009, Mr. Li Zhigang, in Nangang District, Harbin City, was taken by Wang Liguo, head of the Nangang District Domestic Security Division, and other officers to the Nangang District Detention Center. He has remained in custody despite the fact that he has developed tuberculosis and a infection in his lower body. His parents tried to appeal to various officials to visit him. The officials tried to shift responsibilities to others and no one gave the family any answers.
16. [Zhangjiakou City, Hebei Province] Ms. Liu Yuhua and Another Practitioner Held in a Detention Center
Ms. Liu Yuhua, 55, lives at No. 19 Chuanyao Street, Qiaoxi District, Zhangjiakou City. Ms. Li, in her sixties, lives in the family quarters of the Merchandise Depot in Qiaoxi District. The two practitioners were taken into custody by officers from the Nanyingfang Police Station while clarifying the truth in the family quarters of the Qiaoxi District Coal Department on September 13, 2009. The police searched the two practitioners' homes. They are being held at the Shisanli Detention Center in Zhangjiakou City.
17. [Dalian City, Liaoning Province] Mr. Xu Minghai Taken to Masanjia Forced Labor Camp
On July 17, 2009, Mr. Xu Minghai was arrested by officers from the Kuiying Street Police Station. The police also searched his home. After repeated inquiry, his family found out that he has been taken to the Masanjia Forced Labor Camp.

18. [Chicheng County, Hebei Province] Ms. Ji Shujun Sentenced to Two Years of Forced Labor
Ms. Ji Shujun, in her forties, has been forced to leave Chengde City and stay in Chicheng County, Hebei Province. On the morning of September 1, 2009, Ms. Ji and Ms. Wang Sulan, from Longmensuo Town in Chicheng County, were turned in to the police for telling others about the persecution of Falun Gong. The police arrived to arrest them. Ms. Ji refused to get into the police vehicle. The officers pulled on her feet to drag her into the vehicle. Her back was bruised. She was locked to a tiger bench, an iron bench onto which her knees were tied, when she was held at the crime response unit. The following day, the Longmensuo Town and the Chicheng County police each extorted 10,000 yuan from Ms. Wang and then released her.
On September 10, Ms. Ji called from the Zhangjiakou City Forced Labor Camp. She has been sentenced to two years of forced labor by the Chicheng County Police Department. When her family went to take her some clothes two days later, they were told Ms. Ji had been transferred to the Hebei Province Women's Forced Labor Camp in Shijiazhuang City.
Ms. Ji was sentenced to three years of forced labor in 2001. She was held at the Gaoyang Forced Labor Camp in Baoding City, Hebei Province, where she was severely abused and tortured. After she was released, she was forced to leave her hometown to stay in Chicheng County, where the local police arrested her five times.

19. [Gaocheng City, Hebei Province] Ms. Sang Suxin Arrested
Recently, Ms. Sang Suxin was giving out lucky charms in Gaocheng City. A person asked her, "Do you have the Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party?" She said she had some copies at home. The person followed her home. As soon as he got into her home, he put on a fierce look and called the Shijiazhuang City and Gaocheng City police to search her home. Ms. Sang was taken into custody. She is likely being held at the Gaocheng Detention Center.
20. [Hangzhou City, Zhejiang Province] Ms. Feng Huimin Missing
Ms. Feng Huimin, 28, is from Lingyuan City, Liaoning Province. She graduated from the Applied Environment Institute of the China Academy of Science with a master's degree. She worked at the Zhejiang Province Environment Monitoring and Measuring Center.
On the evening of June 22, 2009, Ms. Feng was arrested while distributing brochures containing facts about the persecution in a residential community. Her whereabouts remain unknown.
21. [Meihekou City, Jilin Province] Ms. Wu Guijuan Arrested
At around 9:00 a.m. on September 16, 2009, Ms. Wu Guijuan was arrested. Ms. Wu, in her forties, lives in Zhonghe Township, Hongmei Town, Meihekou City. She was held at the Heizuizi Forced Labor Camp for over a year. She was released in May 2009, but prior to July 20, the police showed up at her home to take her to a brainwashing class. She happened not to be at home.
22. [Yanji City, Jilin Province] Mr. Jin Minghao and Another Practitioner Tortured at Domestic Security Division
Recently, Mr. Jin Minghao and another practitioner with the last name Piao in Yanji City were taken into custody by officers from the Yanji Domestic Security Division. They have been brutally tortured. The two practitioners passed out several times as a result of police brutality.
23. [Shandong Province] List of Some Practitioners Arrested in Zibo City
Since May 2009, several practitioners have been arrested in Zibo City. They include:
Ms. Chen Guang, employee of the Zibo Diesel Factory; her whereabouts are uknown.
Ms. Wang Qingfang, in her fifties, an employee of the Zhangdian Coal Mine, her whereabouts unknown.
Mr. Huang Futang, in his fifties, sentenced to 18 months of forced labor, held at the Wangcun Forced labor Camp.
Li Jinwen, in his forties, a physician at the Zibo Railroad Employees Hospital, sentenced to 12 months of forced labor, held at the Wangcun Forced Labor Camp.
Lian Bo, in his twenties, a villager of Liuhang Village in the Zhangdian area, held in a brainwashing class.
Mr. Gou Yurong, in his seventies, who was released after his family was extorted of over 10,000 yuan.
Ms. Fang, in her eighties, at the Zibo Petrochemical Factory, who has been arrested numerous times.
24. [Hangzhou City, Zhejiang Province] Mr. Hong Chang's Whereabouts Unknown
About a month ago, Mr. Hong Chang was turned in to the police while giving out brochures. He was taken into custody and held at the Zhuantang Detention Center in Hangzhou City. Her current whereabouts are unknown.
25. [Chengdu City, Sichuan Province] Practitioners Harassed and Arrested
On the afternoon of September 14, 2009, seven police officers from the domestic security division and the Peiying Police Station broke into Ms. Wei Yunxia's home. They arrested Ms. Wei. The officers then broke into Mr. Zhang Kui's home. They took Mr. Zhang, and two other practitioners, Mr. Yang Fujun and Mr. Fu Decai, who happened to be visiting Zhang, into custody. Mr. Zhang was released the same night.
The police also went to harass Ms. Liu Shihua and Ms. Man Shujie at their homes and confiscated Falun Dafa books.

27. [Chongqing] Ms. Yao Suhui Sentenced to One Year of Forced Labor
Ms. Yao Suhui, an employee of the Jialing Factory in Chongqing, has been sentenced to one year of forced labor. On September 16, she was taken to the Shabao Women's Forced Labor Camp in the Shima area.
28. [Zhaodong City, Heilongjiang Province] Mr. Ma Yuxi Held at No. 1 Detention Center
Mr. Ma Yuxi, from Zhaodong City, has been working odd jobs in Daqing City. At around 6:00 a.m. on July 22, he was arrested on his way back to Zhaodong City. It was reported that he is being held at the No. 1 Detention Center.
29. [Beijing] Practitioners Forced to Engage in Slave Labor at Qianjin Prison
Several dozen male practitioners have been held at the No. 1 Division of the Qianjin Prison in Beijing area, including Mr. Guo Weimin, Mr. Jin Yuantao, Mr. Zhang Zhenzhong, Mr. Liu Fujiang, Mr. Liu Shusen, and Mr. Wang Weiyu. They have been forced to perform slave labor. The practitioners are being forced to make cake boxes.
30. [Jilin Province] Mr. Yang Junqi Faces Trial at Shulan Court
Mr. Yang Junqi and three of his family members were twice taken into custody. The police searched his home four times. They took cash and deposit receipts worth over 60,000 yuan. Mr. Yang's mother Ms. Lin Songbai became mentally unstable. She was denied admission by labor camp officials. His father Mr. Yang Guoshu was also denied admission at a labor camp. His elder brother Mr. Yang Junfeng was not able to go to work as a result of police persecution.
In July 2009, Mr. Yang Junqi was taken to the Yinmahe Forced Labor Camp in Jiutai City. The Shulan Court is scheduled to hold a trial to sentence him to prison. The Yang family has hired an attorney, who has processed necessary paperwork. The trial date has not been set.

31. [Shijiazhuang City, Hebei Province] Ms. Kang Hongxia Sentenced to Forced Labor
At around 10:30 a.m. on August 24, 2009, four officers from the Chang'an Police Department, led by Jia Yuhe, a residential police officer from the Tangu Police Station in Shijiazhuang City, broke into Ms. Kang Hongxia's home on the fourth floor in a building in the Tangu Residential Community. The police confiscated two computers and two printers. They took Ms. Kang to the police station. The next day, Ms. Kang was taken to the Nanhuochang Detention Center. She was later sentenced to one year of forced labor. She is being held at the Hebei Province Women's Forced Labor Camp.
32. [Xiangtan County, Hunan Province] Mr. Luo Xiangjiang Arrested
On the morning of September 16, 2009, a dozen police officers in Xiangtan City broke into the rental home of Mr. Luo Xiangjiang, who is from Xiangtan County working on odd jobs in Xiangtan City. They forcibly arrested Mr. Luo. The officers also confiscated his personal belongings.
33. [Qitaihe City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Li Guiying and Ms. Li Guilan Arrested
On the afternoon of September 9, 2009, Ms. Liu Guiying and Ms. Li Guilan were arrested at the Fuqiang Mine in Qitaihe City by officers from the Fuqiang Police Station.

34. [Dalian City, Liaoning Province] Mr. Yu Fanglin Faces Trial in Sha District Court
On July 24, 2009, Mr. Yu Fanglin, 39, was taken into custody by officers from the Fumin and Hongqi Town police stations. It has been reported that the Sha District Court is to hold trials to prosecute Mr. Fang on September 16-20.
35. [Laiyuan County, Hebei Province] Officers from Beishifo Police Station Take Practitioners into Custody
On August 21, 2009, two officers from the Beishifo Police Police Station in Laiyuan County, led by the village Party secretary, broke into Ms. Kan Xiaosan's home. They confiscated three Falun Dafa books.
At noon on September 9, two officers from the Beishifo Police Station again showed up at her home to harass her. She was not at home. The officers told her husband not to let her leave when she returned. At around 3:00 p.m., Ms. Kang returned from the countyside. Two officers rushed to her home. They took her to an undisclosed location.
On September 10, Ms. Wang Kai in Paifang Village, Laiyuan County was taken into custody. Her whereabouts are unknown.
36. [Zhangjiakou City, Hebei Province] Mr. Wang Fangfu Arrested
At around 9:00 p.m. on September 15, 2009, Mr. Wang Fangfu, from Zhangjiakou City, Hebei Province, was arrested at his home in Xicheng District, Beijing. The police confiscated a cellular phone, two DVDs, and a personal computer.
37. [Shuangliao City, Jilin Province] Mr. Chu Guiyan Arrested
On the afternoon of September 16, 2009, Mr. Chu Guiyan and his wife went to the residential community of the Electric Factory for business. Four people not in police uniforms arrested the couple. His wife's sleeves were torn.
Mr. Chu was formerly an employee of the electric factory. He has been persecuted several times. He was dismissed from his job at the factory. He now makes a living by offering people rides on a scooter.
