(Clearwisdom.net) Ms. Ma Yan, who currently resides in Japan, graduated from Tsinghua University's Department of Architecture in Beijing. Her father Mr. Ma Chaoyu, who is from Haidian District of Beijing, was arrested when he visited Fengtai District on the morning of September 10, 2009. He is currently being held at the Fengtai District Detention Center.

On September 10, 2009, at approximately 4:00 p.m., an officer from the Fengtai District Police Department, together with agents from the Hangkonggang Neighborhood Administration in Haidian District, including chief Zhang Yanju (female) and Li Rui, an accountant, stormed into Mr. Ma's residence and ransacked it.

When Mr. Ma's family members arrived back home at around 10:00 p.m., they found things a mess, with Mr. Ma missing, along with his computer, printer, Falun Dafa books, MP3 player, and Master Li's photo. The officers who ransacked Mr. Ma's home didn't even leave a note explaining what had happened.

Mr. Ma's daughter, Ms. Ma Yan, was arrested in November 2000 and tried at the Xiangzhou District Court in Zhuhai City in October 2001. In September 2002, she was sentenced to five years in prison.

Ms. Ma explained that during the eleven years that her father has been practicing Falun Gong, he has always been very healthy, and that people who know him consider him a good person. Knowing firsthand how badly practitioners are tortured both physically and spiritually in state-run prisons, she is very worried for her father. She is calling on the international media to help put pressure on the Chinese Communist Party so that it will stop persecuting Falun Gong practitioners and release them unconditionally.
