(Clearwisdom.net) The Spanish National Court recently indicted five high-ranking Chinese Communist Party (CCP) officials, including former Communist Party head Jiang Zemin and his die-hard followers Luo Gan, Bo Xilai, Jia Qinglin and Wu Guanzheng on charges of genocide and torture of Falun Gong practitioners. Taiwanese politicians expressed admiration and support for the Spanish judiciary.

Mr. Yang Chiu-hsing, Head of Kaohsiung County stated, "Spain is great. I admire the country's sense of justice. This case can provide inspiration to future leaders and has significant symbolic meaning."

City Council Member Lin Yu-jung said that the Spanish lawsuit has caught the attention of the whole world.

City Council Member Huang Shu-mei: "We should bravely safeguard our human rights and freedom."

City Council Member Huang Shu-mei said, "Taiwan has democracy, but interference from the CCP never ends, such as interfering with NTDTV broadcasts to Taiwan. The CCP infringes on human rights. We feel that we Taiwanese are not respected [by the CCP]. For the sake of freedom of speech and press, we should bravely safeguard our human rights and freedom."

City Council Member Chen Hui-wen said that Taiwan's judiciary should follow Spain in charging Jiang Zemin and his followers with crimes of genocide and torture.

City Council Member Chen Hui-wen said, "If Taiwan's judiciary can charge Jiang Zemin similar to Spain's stand on human rights, it would mark major progress for Taiwan's human rights. Taiwan's judiciary would be more credible. I hope the [Taiwanese] judiciary system can use Spain as a reference when dealing with human rights cases."
