(Clearwisdom.net) (Correspondent from Hebei Province) On December 19, 2008, officers Tian Guojun, Xu Shuzhen, Zhang Haiyan, and others from the Domestic Security Division of the Yi County Police Department of Baoding City, Hebei Province, broke into the home of Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Yao Guifen in Xishi Village, Gaocun Township, Yi County. They arrested this goodhearted farmer's wife and confiscated her two cell phones, Dafa books, and other things. They put her in the Yi County Detention Center.
Trying to persuade the police to free his wife quickly, Ms. Yao's husband spent more than 20,000 yuan on food and drink for officials and their families from the police station, the court ,and the detention center. In addition, Yi County Court Chief Examiner Du Qiguo from Luo Village, Peishan Town, Yi County, and others extorted more than 51,000 yuan from him. Nevertheless, Ms. Yao was still sentenced in the Yi County court to a prison term of seven years, with four years of that term suspended. She was, however, released early and returned home in April 2009.
After practicing Falun Gong, Yao Guifen's arthritis, psoriasis, and many other diseases were cured. However, Yao Guifen's kindhearted husband feels hopeless against the persecution by the Chinese Communist Party and has been mentally traumatized. Their family is now completely broke and had to borrow money for their child to go to school.
