(Clearwisdom.net) "I'm curious. Why are these Falun Gong practitioners motivated to persevere so long?" asked Mr. Wu from Taoyuan after seeing the practitioners' sit-in protest on the evening of December 20.
After December 23, 2009, Chinese Communist Party (CCP) officials will leave Taichung to visit other counties and cities in Taiwan. Many other protest groups have left, but nearly a thousand Falun Gong practitioners remain around the hotel where the CCP officials are staying, protesting the CCP's 10-year-long persecution of Falun Gong in China.

Mr. Wu from Taoyuan is an auto salesman. He said, "I know why Falun Gong practitioners stand out here to protest, it's because the persecution is so very brutal. Only when one experiences it in person can he really appreciate the level of cruelty. If practitioners don't stand here today, they may be persecuted tomorrow and have no one to speak for them."
Press Conference Calls for an End to the Persecution
On the evening of December 23, Falun Gong practitioners held a press conference in the open space across from Yuyuan Hotel. They called for an end to the CCP's persecution.

At the press conference, the recorded telephone conversation of a police officer in Liaoning Province, who personally witnessed the organ harvesting from a living Falun Gong practitioner, was played. The recording was provided by the World Organization to Investigate the Persecution of Falun Gong (WOIPFG). In the taped conversation, the police officer said, "She was in her thirties. Before the live organ harvesting, she was raped by several police officers."
Since December 20, Falun Gong practitioners have held banners worded "Falun Dafa is Great," "High-level CCP Officials Jiang Zemin, Luo Gan, Boxilai, Jia Qinglin, and Wu Guanzheng Indicted by Spanish Court," and other messages, along roads around the conference venue where the CCP and Taiwanese officials met. The practitioners held 350 large banners, lining the street for several kilometers. The peaceful sit-in protest and banner display continued from 4:00 a.m. until midnight.
