(Clearwisdom.net) Today's News from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 16 cities or counties in 10 provinces. In this report, 14 practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention and at least 12 practitioners were illegally arrested.
1. [Xiangtan City, Hunan Province] Ms. Tao Shuyuan, Ms. Tang Peiheng and Ms. Zhu Jing Sentenced to Three Years of Forced Labor
On July 9, 2009, Ms. Tao Shuyuan, 47, an employee of the Xiangtan Electrical Manufacturing Factory, Ms. Tang Peiheng, 60, and Ms. Zhu Jing, 32, were sentenced to three years of forced labor. They were sent to the Changsha Women's Prison in early October 2009.
On December 19, 2008, Ms. Tao and Ms. Tang went to the Xiangtan No. 1 Hospital to visit a patient. They gave a truth-clarifying DVD to a plainclothes officer who was at the gate of the hospital. The officer called for seven to eight more officers and took Ms. Tao and Ms. Tang to the Shuyuan Road Police Station when they left the hospital. The Domestic Security Division of the Yuetang Public Security Department in Xiangtan City searched their homes and then took them to the Xiangtan City Detention Center, where they were held for nearly one year.
Ms. Zhu Jing was followed while she was talking to people about Falun Gong in her neighborhood. Her home was searched and her computer was confiscated.
2. [Qidong City, Jiangsu Province] Mr. Peng Hesheng Arrested
Mr. Peng Hesheng from Qidong City, Jiangsu Province was recently arrested by officers from the Shanghai and Qidong 610 Offices while he was working at the Ziranyuan Florist in Hongkou District, Shanghai. The officers searched his home and found some Falun Gong related materials. They took him to the Qidong Brainwashing Center. Mr. Peng refused to cooperate with the authorities and continued to clarify the truth about Falun Gong while in the brainwashing center. He was later taken to the Qidong Detention Center. The authorities threatened to send him to the forced labor camp and harassed his family.
3. [Wuhan City, Hubei Province] Mr. Mei Dazuo's Appeal Case Sent to Wuhan Intermediate Court
In the morning on October 22, 2009, the Wuchang District Court tried Mr. Mei Dazuo. On October 28, 2009, Mr. Mei was sentenced to a four-year term. Mr. Mei appealed, and his case has been transferred to the Wuhan Intermediate Court.

5. [Xupu County, Hunan Province] Additional Information on Mr. Zhang Bingxing's Persecution
On November 18, 2009, Mr. Zhang Bingxing was arrested and taken to a brainwashing center. His wife has gone to the Xupu County Electrolytic Manganese Factory where he works several times to demand his release. She was told that he would be released in a week and that the workplace was not responsible for his arrest. Mr. Zhang has not been released.

6. [Changchun City, Jilin Province] Practitioners Forced to Attend Brainwashing Session
At approximately 8:00 a.m. on November 23, 2009, Shi, the director of the Puyang Neighborhood Office, Changchun City, went to harass a practitioner at home. Shortly after Shi left, an officer from the local police station went to the same practitioner's home in an attempt to send the practitioner to a brainwashing session. When the practitioner's family told the officer that the practitioner was at work and could not take time off, the officer said that it would take only seven days to complete the session and he would be compensated for his time. When he was sure that the practitioner was not home, the officer told the family that he would come back at night. According to sources, seven practitioners have been sent to the brainwashing session.
7. [Chaoyang City, Liaoning Province] Practitioners Persecuted
On November 7, 2009, Zhang Minghua, deputy director of the Chaoyang City Public Security Department, along with Li Guangwen and others from the Guangming Public Security Branch, went to Ms. Li Cuihua's home and arrested Mr. Yu Guangyao, Mr. Xiang Baohui and Ms. Li Cuihua. The officers also confiscated a large amount of personal property. The officials intended to see to it that the practitioners were sentenced, but the Chaoyang City Procuratorate rejected the case because of the lack of evidence. Zhang Minghua has reported the case to Qu Lianchun, secretary of the Chaoyang City CCP Political Security Committee.
On October 4, 2009, Ms. Rong Yulan and Ms. Si Xiujuan were arrested by Li Changxing, Wang Gang and other officers from the Chaoyang City Development Zone Public Security Branch. Mr. Rong and Ms. Si are being held at the Wujiawa Detention Center. Zhang Hua and others from the Branch tried to collect enough evidence to sentence Ms. Rong and Ms. Si.
Zhang Hua, Wang Gang and other officers went to harass Ms. Mu Jianhua in her home several times and twice they took Ms. Mu to the detention center. However, the detention center refused to admit Ms. Mu because she failed the physical exam.

8. [Yulin City, Guangxi Zhuangzu Autonomous Region] Practitioners Persecuted
Between 5:00 p.m. and 10:00 p.m. on November 24, 2009, officers from the Luchuan County Public Security Department and the Police Station broke in to arrest several practitioners and search their homes. The practitioners are detained at the Luchuan County Detention Center.
Around November 16, 2009, officers from the Yulin City Public Security Department arrested Ms. Lin Tingjiao, who was attending the Yulin Normal College. People in contact with Ms. Lin, including her mother and brother, were arrested on November 24, 2009.

10. [Dalian City, Liaoning Province] Mr. Wang Guojun Persecuted
Mr. Wang Guojun from Panjin City, Liaoning Province, was arrested in 2007. When he was detained in Jinzhou City, he was brutally beaten by the guards and several inmates until he had broken bones and his body was covered with wounds. In 2008, Mr. Wang was taken to the Dalian City Prison where he was held in the Third Section, Fourth Division. The prison denied his family's visitation rights because Mr. Wang wanted to sue the guards who had injured him.
11. [Tongling City, Anhui Province] Elderly Practitioner Arrested and Detained
In mid October 2009, Mr. Jia, in his 60s, who lives near the Tongling City No. 1 Middle School, was arrested by a plainclothes officer while he was distributing truth-clarifying materials. The officer grabbed Mr. Jia by his hair and forced him to lead several officers to his home. The officers found many Falun Gong related materials in his home and took him to the city detention center, where he was detained for one month. Mr. Jia is home now.

At 2:30 p.m. on November 25, 2009, the Yanzhou City Court tried Ms. Wei Maoxia and her son, Mr. Zhang Chao.
13. [Shenyang City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Mou Shizhen, Ms. Qi Fengqiu and Ms. Zhang Lianjun Arrested
In the afternoon on November 22, 2009, Ms. Mou Shizhen, Ms. Qi Fengqiu and Ms. Zhang Lianjun were arrested by the Qigong Police Station in Tiexi District while they were clarifying the truth about Falun Gong in the area. Their whereabouts are unknown.

At approximately 10:00 a.m. on November 7, 2009, Li Yongjun, chief of the Qi County Domestic Security Division, led a group of police officers and broke into Ms. Liu Xinying's home in Shawo Township. Without showing any identification or documents, the officers ransacked Ms. Liu's home, confiscated her personal property, and took her to the county detention center. Ms. Liu's bedridden mother, who is in her 80s, was left home alone without any care. Later, Li Yongjun led the same group of officers and broke into and searched several other practitioners' homes and harassed them.
