Buell Theatre at the Denver Performing Arts Complex (Epoch Times)

(Clearwisdom.net) DENVER, CO--The Mile High City has shown its dedication to excellence in the arts by building the second largest performing arts complex in the US, consisting of 10 theaters seating 10,000. The Divine Performing Arts (DPA) performed to a full house at the Buell Theatre in the complex and received a standing ovation on January 31.

Mr. and Mrs. Chavez said that they were on the edge of their seats with joy as they watched the performance.

"I am overwhelmed by this," said Mr. Chavez, who works for the federal government in public relations in the aviation field. "I am totally gratified. This was very well worth coming to see. I brought my wife and she is also having a wonderful experience."

When asked what best described the show, he remarked, "Captivating, educational, beautiful, and very enchanting." He also mentioned that it was moving and "outright entertaining."

He was drawn to the beauty of the history and he hoped it was a learning experience and entertaining for those who have never seen anything like this before.

"It was good to have things explained before each piece, and the performers performed with such grace and beauty! I recall other programs that I have seen about my own culture and they compare very, very favorably. A person who has never seen anything this before can have somewhat of a feeling of what it must be like to have been born in a country that has been around for so many of thousands of years and how they've evolved with their customs and been able to keep it around and express it with such beauty."

One of his favorites was "Heaven Awaits Us Despite Persecution." "Oh, beautiful," Mr. Chavez exclaimed.

This piece depicts an innocent father who is persecuted to death by the Communist Party for practicing Falun Gong, a traditional spiritual discipline.

Mr. Chavez said that it showed how people "deal with adversity but how there's hope and where everybody goes to in the end. That was my favorite because I felt--and I believe this strongly in my heart--that the hereafter is where life really begins. And we go through this struggle on this earth. It was explained very beautifully how the family stays together. Their belief showed in their expressions. And that, to me, was very, very powerful."

Commenting on all aspects of the show he exclaimed, "Oh, all the loveliness was absolutely great." Mr. Chavez ended the interview by saying, "I only wish I could speak the language, so I could understand better."
