(Clearwisdom.net) Efforts by Chinese Consulate officials to stop people from supporting the internationally acclaimed Divine Performing Arts (DPA) show was met with disdain in Germany. Mr. Pache, the president of a financial services company, attended DPA 2009 World Tour's first performance to Europe, at the very popular Jahrhunderhalle, on Saturday, February 21. Audiences have shown their appreciation for the show with extended rounds of applause and standing ovations.

Commenting on the Chinese consulate's actions in trying to stop people from attending the show, Mr. Pache said, "In a Western democracy, there is no reason to hinder someone from attending a show. I generally don't think much of such statements, and they will not hinder my coming to this show!" Mr. Pache mentioned that he had seen Chinese shows in the past, but he felt that they all promoted the Chinese communist regime.

He went on to say, "In the last [several] decades this [Chinese communist] regime has kept critics of the regime, who are within its own country, under control, as well as partially beyond its borders. This is not welcomed in a Western democracy." Mr. Pache said he felt it would benefit both the people in the West as well as China, if China opens itself up more.

Expressing his appreciation for the show, Mr. Pache said, "The dances are all very harmonious and vital. They are very well coordinated with the music and impart a sense of well-being. The movements are very uniform."

Insight into China's Diverse Cultural Heritage

The president of an advertising firm, Mr. Moebius, joined the enthusiastic audience in welcoming DPA to Frankfurt.

Mr. Moebius admitted he knew little about Chinese culture before coming to the show, and now felt he had been given an insight into China's cultural diversity. "I must say, bringing the 5,000-year old culture [of China] through a number of different scenes to the stage was rather successful. That really worked. It was beautiful!"

He said, "I was quite impressed with the Chinese opera singers. Who would have thought that the Chinese can sing that well? I found that absolutely marvelous! Also, the fan dance [Welcoming Spring], was delightful and especially great was the last performance [Knowing the True Picture Offers Ultimate Hope], when all were on stage surrounded by fog."

"This Is Very Inspirational"

Also attending the packed theater on Saturday were Ms. Rickert, head of marketing at a furniture company, and her husband, who are both interested in culture. They said they truly loved how DPA presented culture and history through the show. "This was done exceptionally well! It's also rather impressive how they blend dance, culture and modern times. This is very inspirational, one can learn a lot," Ms. Rickert said.

Ms. Rickert was herself a ballet dancer until the age of 16, therefore she deeply understands how much effort it takes for the DPA dancers to achieve this high caliber standard, and make their performances seem effortless. "There is a lot of training behind what we see on stage. They must be very talented, have a strong capability of showing expression, and must have a lot of performing talent! The artists must have a lot of empathy to be able to impart emotions. For this, one needs a strong spirit, and one can truly feel this."

She was also intrigued by the music. "The combination of the different musical instruments that have their origin in Western and Chinese culture is very interesting. The combination was successful and very appealing!"

Her husband said that he also enjoyed the show. "I liked very much the way they portrayed dignity and compassion, and it gave me a lot of energy."
