(Clearwisdom.net) KAOHSIUNG, Taiwan--Apparently, the show of New York-based Shen Yun Performing Arts has been a choice destination where celebrities from political, business, and literary circles socialize with one another.

On the evening of March 17, about 10 members of the International Management Council (IMC) showed up for the final show of Shen Yun Performing Arts in Kaohsiung. During the intermission, Peng Guoxiong, former head of the IMC of Kaohsiung, pointed at a number of gathering audience, saying, "The content of the show is wondrous! So you see over there. ... Many of our council members attend the show! I take great delight in it.

"Shen Yun has stayed in Taiwan for such a long time [staging successive performances in Taiwan for over a month.] Indeed it has its attraction. I attend the show. It's really very good! The show involves great content, profundity, and high quality. Much to my surprise, the costumes are particularly beautiful. Never have I seen such costume designs.

"Based on essence of Chinese culture, their performance is very outstanding, authentic, traditional, and excellent. Each of the performers wear an appealing expression on his or her face, which make viewers feel joyful and comfortable. In short, I take great delight in the show," he said laughingly. Seated in the fifth row, he was aptly able to observe performers' facial expressions.

IMC was first founded in the United States in 1903 under the direction of few foremen of the YMCA in the city of Hartford, Conn. At first it was called the Industrial Management Club (IMC). Then branches were set up in over 40 states across the United States, attracting numerous members, most of whom were celebrities from business circles. In 1971 the organization's name was changed to the International Management Council, but still used IMC for short. Systematically organized and still vital, IMC carries out its policies based on industrial democracy and has the reputation of nurturing leading figures for the U.S. business circles. IMC has made great contributions to U.S. industrial development.

The first IMC branch, the International Management Council of Taipei, was set up on May 5, 1961, followed by the establishment of affiliated councils in Taiwan. In addition, Taiwan-based IMC has developed a formal connection with U.S.-based IMC and with business groups in Japan.
