(Clearwisdom.net) Shen Yun Performing Arts 2009 World Tour once again graced the Canberra Theater with its unique portrayal of Chinese traditional culture, and so gracefully illustrated the precious values of human beings in a way which can speak to all.

Former diplomat Mr. Harper and his wife came to see Shen Yun Performing Arts with great interest on March 30, having spent much time in China. "We loved the show. It was a bit different from the ones we saw when we were in China. The scenery, the clothing, the movements, the way they glide across the stage ... just beautiful," said Mr. Harper.

Mrs. Harper noted the detail in the 3D backdrops and the stunning costumes. "I loved the costumes. When they swirl around and you see all the colors come in, and one of them looked just like a lotus leaf floating around the stage. And I love the way that they move across the stage, and their hand movements. Really beautiful," she said.

Mr. Ciszewsk, a gallery assistant for a large science and technology center, enjoyed the way the show reflected the beauty of humankind. "It's very rare to see a show that is spiritually refreshing, so it was very, very nice to see lots of ladies and men behaving in a way that somehow enhances human values. It was very nice."

"Shen Yun is good because it's an echo of the values that human beings long to see and live. So, we have religion, we have the human story and we have something that is just so enhancing to watch, so it is good. It's good for the soul," he said.

Mr. Ciszewsk commented, "Visually it's very, very nice. The colors are very bright and it has music and lots of movement. These performers basically show the qualities that human beings can have. It's a delight to see."

I'm fascinated by the fact that we're taught so little in the West about 'fineness' and 'quality.' So when I hear about 5000 years, and if I read Chinese books, Chinese philosophers, their way of life, it brings out things that the average person doesn't meet in a Western life. It has an understanding of life after death, an understanding of reincarnation, so basically it covers a progression of what a human can reach. It's a delightful show." He also added, "The show has inspired me to actually do something with my life and not waste it."

After watching the show he admitted, "My life is much richer, and I will look forward to listening to Chinese music, meeting Chinese people and certainly learning more about traditional Chinese culture."

Mr. Tony Gallow, a furniture manufacturing company owner, said after the show, "I'm very uplifted by this show. It gives one good insight to Chinese culture. I enjoyed it very much. The performance gave me valuable Chinese views of life's messages through the myth, legends, and today's life story sequences. I was familiar with 'The Monkey King Triumphs,' which I liked seeing again."

Mr. Gallow shared his view, "I agree that family life should create closeness and happiness through goodness towards each other. It's not like that in today's world. This show gave me a lot to think about. I'll invite my wife next time. She will really enjoy the terrific dancing and vividly colored costumes. I'll remember it for a long time."

Shen Yun Performing Arts touched the heart of consultant Mr. Nugent, after seeing the show for the third time. When asked why he returned to see the performance, Mr. Nugent explained, "Well, number one is the costumes, the music, the choreography. And what really touched me this year, is actually the story about the family, the modern family. The father that's been persecuted and the whole family's been persecuted."

"Heaven Awaits Us Despite Persecution" is a story of an innocent family's suffering after the father is persecuted to death for practicing Falun Gong, a spiritual disciplined banned in China. In the vignette, he is taken to heaven by celestial beings, reinforcing the ancient Chinese belief that good is rewarded and evil punished, even if not in this lifetime.

"I think that's the most spectacular story. It's incredibly touching. It's the third time I've seen it, and it brings tears to your eyes. It's a credit to the way they've portrayed it," he said.

"It's incredibly touching, and very, very spectacular in the way it's represented," he said. "I must commend the performers as well as the production crew, because it's unbelievable. And you can watch it over and over, there's something for us to learn, every time."

Mr. Nugent has also seen the show in New York, and this year attended the show in Canberra with his relatives. "All my aunties, my uncles, yesterday I brought my grandmother. So the whole family has seen it, including my young nephews. It's a really good show, and I hope it continues to come back, year after year, because it needs to be shown these days in society. People have to know about it. It's nice to see the culture. I hope people can see that story and be touched by it, because I am touched. It's very well done. Thank you."
