(Clearwisdom.net) In 2009 I obtained DVDs of a Shen Yun performance. Since then I have been giving them to mainland Chinese people in person at snack booths, grocery stores, or open markets. People react differently when I gave them the DVDs. Some thanked me, some refused it, and others asked me questions. If someone refused it in the first place, I would say to him, "A ticket to such an excellent show costs a lot overseas, so here is a rare opportunity for you to watch it for free, and you will find it really good!" That way the person might accept it, even if he had refused it at first.
Some people might ask, "Your DVDs must cost quite a bit. Who gave you the money to make them?" I would tell them, "I have an income from work just like you, and I paid myself to make these DVD's. I am giving you a copy for your own good, not for me." That way, people would agree that this was a good thing. Others might ask whether the DVDs were related to Falun Gong. I would reply, "Falun Gong practitioners are all good people--the propaganda on TV is false, and the self-immolation on Tiananmen Square was staged by the government." Conversations like this could be good opportunities to clarify the truth about Falun Gong to people.
When I approached people, I addressed them with respectful titles, which helped facilitate the conversations, and they would be more willing to accept the DVDs.
People also asked what the show was about. I would tell them the show represented the five thousand years of Chinese traditional culture, including legends and myths, such as the Journey to the West with the Monkey King, Monk Jigong, poet Li Bai, and Mulan. Some people asked if the show was as good as I described. I told them that it was all true, and they could judge for themselves after watching it, that I was using my own resources to make the DVDs just to give more people in mainland China the chance to see Shen Yun's performance. Usually the recipients would say they were going to watch it at home.
Some people kindly offered to distribute the DVDs for me, but others with questionable intentions asked me where I lived. I just answered, "What good does it do you to know my address? Please take a DVD home and watch it with your heart." I was not afraid of the people with vicious intentions, because Master told us in "What's to Fear" in Hong Yin II: "Should you have fear, it will seize upon you. If thoughts are righteous, evil will collapse." If I had been frightened at that moment, I would have already gotten myself into trouble.
Once I was distributing the DVDs at a grocery store. Many people came up to me to get one. To save time, I took out all the DVDs in my bag so that people could grab one themselves instead of my giving them out one by one. In less than ten minutes, all fifty copies of the Shen Yun show were gone.
This experience showed me that sentient beings were truly hoping and waiting to be saved. As Falun Dafa disciples in the Fa-rectification period, we must study the Fa well, get rid of the heart of fear, and step out to use all means to save people. We should do the three things well to fulfill Dafa disciples' mission. Master said in the Greetings on May 17, 2009: "The evil is finished and the environment has changed, so it is even more imperative that you not let up in cultivation." Thus, we should seize the time to fulfill our vows. Let us be diligent!
