(Clearwisdom.net) On the evening of July 23, 2009, Ms. Wu Shunzhen from Nanjing City, Jiangsu Province, was arrested by officers from the Huaqiao Road Police Station while she was clarifying the truth about Falun Gong in Xinjiekou. The next day she was sent to the Nanjing Detention Center. It is said that Ms. Wu, who is 55 years old, had already been followed by the police for three days.

Ms. Wu Shunzhen, believing firmly in Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance, was persecuted continuously by people in the CCP. She was detained in various places, including the Nanjing Brain Hospital, the Qinglongshan Mental Hospital, the Nanjing Detention Center, the Jurong Women's Forced Labor Camp in Jiangsu Province, as well as Nanjing Women's Prison.

On November 29, 2002, she was sent for three years of forced labor by personnel from the Guanghua Road Police Station. In November 2003, she was sent to the third team in the Judong Women's Forced Labor Camp in Jiangsu Province, which persecuted Falun Gong practitioners specifically. Guards there brainwashed her for two months with videos denouncing Falun Gong.

In order to brainwash Ms. Wu, in February, May,and November 2004, people in the forced labor camp detained her in the Kong Building three times. Police and inmates took turns torturing her 24 hours a day. Their methods of torture included shocking with electric batons, standing for long periods of time, squatting, being frozen, not being allowed to use the bathroom, not being allowed sleep in a bed for over 30 days, being threatened with snakes and scorpions, being bullied by policemen, being beaten by policewomen (Ding Hui and Zhang Yan) and inmates in turn, having her hair pulled out in two large areas, and having her back burnt by mosquito incense and candle oil. She was injured in over twenty places and her right eye was swollen.

The police tried every trick in the book but did not succeed. They sent her to a mental hospital to be persecuted, but failed to brainwash her again. Then they detained her on the third floor to be watched over more closely. She was watched by two inmates and was not allowed to have contact with anybody else. She was forced to stay inside.

The female guards who persecuted Ms. Wu in the Judong Women's Forced Labor Camp included Cao Chunmei (in the third division), Hong Ying (instructor), Zhou Ying (team leader), Ding Hui, Wang Hongmei, Zhang Yan, Chen Dongli, and Zhao Jinli. Also persecuting her were male guards in Fangqiang Forced Labor Camp: Zhou (team leader), Jiang (team leader), Sun Jiabo, Chen, Ge, and Cai. The people responsible for persecution in the Provincial Forced Labor Bureau included Tang Guofang and Li Yunjun. Inmates that participated in the persecution included Wang Ling, Li Yun, Li Xiaoning, Song Chunmei, Zhai Liping, Jin Xiaohong, and Pan Jianwen.

In 2006, before her release date, guards in the Third Team tried to force her to write a statement giving up Falun Gong, but she refused. They then persecuted her fiercely again, using cruel methods. She went on a hunger strike but was detained for several more months.

After returning home for four months, she was arrested by the 610 Office on July 20, 2006, and held in the Nanjing City Detention Center. In August 2007, she was sentenced to two years by the Baixia District Court in Nanjing City and detained in Nanjing Women's Prison.

Now Ms. Wu Shunzhen has been arrested again by the CCP. Nobody is able take care of her mother, who is in her eighties.
