(Clearwisdom.net) On July 31, 2009, the Heping District Court in Shenyang City, Liaoning Province, held a trial to sentence three Falun Gong practitioners to prison. They are Mr. Gao Shubin, Ms. Gu Chunying and Mr. Guo Jian. The security at the court was very tight, and the court only allowed one family member to be present for each practitioner during the hearing. The trial only lasted two hours. Due to involvement from the local 610 Office, the court illegally sentenced Mr. Gao and Ms. Gu to prison for three years and Mr. Guo to one and a half years, respectively.
On the morning of July 31, 2009, the 610 Office in Shenyang City dispatched a large number of police officers to the area near the Heping District Court. There were many police officers with their cars outside, and some went to the hallways surrounding the court. Several dozen officers, police cars, plainclothes officers and police assistants appeared near the court. The hearing started at around 8:30 a.m. and ended at around 10:00 a.m.
When Ms. Gu's sister heard that Ms. Gu had been sentenced to three years of imprisonment despite her innocence, she was angry and complained loudly in the court. As a result, she was forced to leave the court.

Mr. Gao Shubin was born in 1960. His hometown is in Wanghua District of Fushun City, Liaoning Province. He was arrested in the Huaiyuanmen area in Shenyang City on July 4, 2008.
Ms. Gu Chunying was born in 1973 and her hometown is Xinmin City, Liaoning Province. On August 16, 2008, Liu Xiangdong, a police officer from the State Security Division, Liu Fuchen and several other officers from the Xinxing Police Station came to Ms. Gu's home. She refused to open the door; the police then tried to break in for the next five hours. When they finally forced open the door, Ms. Gu's brother, sister-in-law and father arrived. While the police were ransacking her home, Ms. Gu escaped. In September 2008, she returned to her home. One morning, police from the Xinxing Police Station arrested Ms. Gu while she was taking her child to school.
Mr. Guo Jian was born in 1971. His hometown is Changtu County, Liaoning Province. On August 16, 2008, officers from the Xinxing Police Station arrested him in Zhongxing Street, Heping District, Shenyang City.
