(Clearwisdom.net) Today's News from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 18 cities or counties in 8 provinces. In this report, 11 Falun Gong practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention, and at least 18 practitioners were illegally arrested.
1. [Zaozhuang City, Shandong Province] Mr. Shao Zeguo and Ms. Yan Jirong Illegally Sentenced to Prison Terms
The People's Court in Shanting District, Zaozhuang City sentenced Mr. Shao Zeguo, a practitioner from Zaozhuang City, to five years in prison. In July 2009, he was sent to the Lunan Prison.
The People's Court in Shanting District, Zaozhuang City sentenced Ms. Yan Jirong, a practitioner from Zaozhuang City, to three years in prison. On June 24, 2009, she was sent to the Shandong Women's Prison.
2. [Shiyan City, Hubei Province] Ms. Zhan Xiancui Arrested
On August 4, 2009, Ms. Zhang Xiancui was reported to the police while she was distributing materials about Falun Gong in the Hongwei Community of Shiyan City. She was then arrested by officers from the local The "610 office".
3. [Chibi City, Hubei Province] Mr. Huang Junliang Arrested and His Home Ransacked

5. [Langfang City, Shandong Province] Ms. An Xuezhi Arrested and Her Home Ransacked
On July 31, 2009, officers from the Yongledian Police Station, Tongzhou District, Beijing arrested Ms. An Xuezhi, a practitioner from Naizifang of the Langfang Development Area. On August 1, police officers ransacked her home and confiscated her Dafa books. Ms. An is currently being detained in the Tongzhou District's Detention Center of Beijing.

6. [Linyi City, Shandong Province] Ms. Li Xiumei Sent to a Brainwashing Center
On August 5, 2009, the police arrested Ms. Li Xiumei, a practitioner from Linyi City, Shandong Province. On the same day, they took her to the Brainwashing Center at the Linyi Water Conservancy School.
7. [Dalian City, Liaoning Province] Mr. Lin Zhiliang Arrested
Around July 17, 2009, police officers arrested Mr. Lin Zhiliang, 58, a practitioner from Dalian City, Liaoning Province.
8. [Weifang City, Shandong Province] Mr. Lu Xinliang Illegally Put on Trial
On August 1, 2009, the court in Weifang City put Mr. Lu Xinliang on trial. His family was not allowed to attend.
9. [Panjin City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Zhai Xiuhua Transferred to a Brainwashing Center
On August 3, 2009, officers transferred Ms. Zhai Xiuhua from the Panjin Detention Center to the Fushu City's Brainwashing Center.
10. [Linqing City, Shandong Province] Mr. Wang Lin and Two Fellow Practitioners Arrested
On August 2, 2009, officers from the Linqing City's Police Bureau ransacked the homes of many practitioners. They confiscated computers, printers and other personal items. They arrested three practitioners: Mr. Wang Lin, Ms. Cui Zixiu and Ms. Cui Yuling, who live at Jijin Street, Linqing City.
11. [Hengshui City, Hebei Province] Ms. Xu Qiuyan Arrested
At midnight on August 3, 2009, many officers from the Hengshui City's Domestic Security Division climbed over the fence, broke into Ms. Xu Qiuyan's home and arrested her. They ransacked her home and confiscated her TV, VCD recorder and her husband's cell phone.
12. [Chengde City, Hebei Province] Mr. Liu Tian and Four Other Practitioners Arrested
In the morning of July 18, 2009, police officers in plainclothes arrested Mr. Liu Tian, a practitioner from Shuiquangou, Chengde City. Later, the Shuiquangou Community Director took police officers to Mr. Liu's home. They ransacked his home and confiscated his Dafa books and other personal properties. He is currently detained in the Chengde City Detention Center.
On July 21, 2009, police officers arrested Ms. Liu Guixiang, Ms. Yang Aiqing, Ms. Yang Aijun and Ms. Jiang Xiuzhen, practitioners from Chengde City, in their homes. On August 4, officers sent Ms. Liu Guixiang to the Kaiping Labor Camp in Tangshan City. The location where the other practitioners are being detained is unknown.
13. [Hengyang, Hunan Province] Ms. He Xiqiu and Ms. Liu Jianhong Sent to a Labor Camp
Officers sent Ms. He Xiqiu and Ms. Liu Jianhong, practitioners who had been detained in the Baishazhou Detention Center, Hengyang City, to the Zhuzhou Baimalong Labor Camp.
14. [Qinhuangdao City, Hebei Province] Ms. Dang and Ms. Liu Arrested
In the morning of August 5, 2009, police officers followed Ms. Dang and Ms. Liu while they were Clarifying the Truth and distributing information materials in the Qinhuangdao Development Area. Later, the police arrested these two practitioners and detained them in the Qianjin Police Station of the Development Area.
15. [Bin County, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Wang Yuping Arrested Again
At approximately 3:00 p.m. on July 14, 2009, Chang Jianmin, the superintendent and other officers from the Shengli Town's Police Station arrested Ms. Wang Yuping. She is over 60 years old and a practitioner from Houjiatun, Min'an Village, Shengli Town, Bin County, Heilongjiang Province. They immediately took her to the Bin County's Detention Center.
Ms. Wang has been arrested four times and extorted out of about 20,000 Yuan. She has been sentenced to three years of forced labor after she was arrested the second time.

16. [Changde City, Hunan Province] Ms. Yuan Xiuyun Sent to a Brainwashing Center
Around July 10, 2009, officers sent Ms. Yuan Xiuyun, a practitioner from Dingcheng District, Changde City, Hunan Province to a brainwashing center.
17. [Jidong County, Guangdong Province] Mr. Chen Lixiong Arrested and Sent to Guangdong Sanshui Labor Camp
On July 20, 2009, officers from the Dongshan District's Police Subbureau, Jieyang City ransacked the home of Mr. Chen Lixiong, a practitioner from Jidong County, Jiedong City, Guangdong Province. They arrested him and sent him to the Dongshan Detention Center. Fifteen days later, they sent him to the Guangdong Sanshui Labor Camp.
18. [Laizhou City, Shandong Province] Ms. Lu Aizhi Arrested and Sent to Brainwashing Center
At approximately 7:00 a.m. on August 2, 2009, officers from the Laizhou City's 610 Office, conspiring with officers from the Zhuqiao Town's Police Station, arrested Ms. Lu Aizhi, a practitioner from Youjia Village, Zhuqiao Town, Laizhou City. They ransacked her home and confiscated her Dafa books, a notebook computer, computer disks and other personal items. She is currently being detained in the Laizhou City's Dianzi Brainwashing Center.

19. [Laixi City, Shandong Province] Ms. Li Xiuai Sentenced to One Year and Nine Months of Forced Labor
In the morning of July 21, 2009, officers from the Qingdao Road Police Station arrested Ms. Li Xiuai, a practitioner from Lanshang Village, Shuiji Town, Laixi City, Shandong Province, as she passed by the police station. They broke into her home and confiscated Teacher's picture and materials regarding Falun Gong and the persecution. After she was held in the detention center for fifteen days, she was sentenced to one year and nine months of forced labor. She is currently being detained in the Laixi Detention Center.
20. [Nanjing City, Jiangsu Province] Mr. Yang Fengling Arrested
In early August 2009, officers from the local 610 Office and Police Station arrested Mr. Yang Fengling, a practitioner from Nanjing City, Jiangsu Province. They also ransacked his home.
