(Clearwisdom.net) Today's News from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 20 cities or counties in 12 provinces. In this report, 17 practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention and at least 33 practitioners were illegally arrested.
1. [Dalian City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Li Caili Arrested
At 8:00 a.m. on July 21, 2009, Ms. Li Caili was arrested by officer Zhao Fengyou and other officers from the Qingduizi Town Police Station.

2. [Hailin City, Heilongjiang Province] Mr. Fu Pengfei Detained at the Beijing Police Station
While Mr. Fu Pengfei, from Hailin City, was passing through Beijing during a business trip to Baoding City, officers from the Chengnan Police Station in Beijing detained him.

3. [Yushu City, Jilin Province] Five Practitioners Arrested
At 6:00 p.m. on July 20, 2009, Ms. Zhou Sulian was arrested by officers from the National Security Division and the Peiyong Police Station.
On July 21, 2009, Ms. Liu Shuzhen and Mr. Yu Donghui, both from Yushu City, and Ms. Ma Shufen and Mr. Li Chunjie from Wukeshu Town, were arrested by officers from the Yushu City National Security Division. Ms. Liu's home was ransacked and many of her personal items were taken away, including her Dafa books and materials.
On July 21, 2009, officers from the Yushu City National Security Division went to Ms. Zheng Lijia's home to harass her, but she was not home at the time.

4. [Guanghan City, Sichuan Province] Mr. Zhang Yunyue Arrested
On the morning of July 16, 2009, Mr. Zhang Yunyue, from Guangxing Town, Guanghan City, was arrested by officers from the Xiangyang Town Police Station, while he was clarifiying the truth. Several officers held Mr. Zhang down and brutally beat him. He is currently being detained at the Guanghan City Detention Center. Mr. Zhang's sister-in-law was also arrested and detained while handing out fliers in her hometown of Santai County.
5. [Shahe City, Hebei Province] Ms. Yang Aiying's Home Ransacked
At 10:00 p.m. on July 23, 2009, three officers from the Qi Village Police Station, lead by Han Litao from the Shahe Police Department, went to Ms. Yang Aiying's home, located in Ximao Village and ransacked it. They took away a copy of Fa and some other materials.

6. [Fushun City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Wang Yan is Being Held at the Nangou Station, Liaoning Province
On July 2, 2009, Ms. Wang Yan, from Fushun City, was arrested by officers from the Zhanqian Police Station while she was waiting for a bus in front of the of Bureau of Mines. She was later transferred to the Nangou Detention Center in Fushun City. On July 15, 2009, she was transferred to the Nangou Detention Center and is currently being tortured there.
7. [Guangzhou City, Guangdong Province] Mr. Zheng Hongxuan Arrested
At approximately 9:00 p.m. on June 24, 2009, the director of the Xingang Street Police Station in Haizhu District, instructed nearly ten police officers and local security agents to storm into Mr. Zheng Hongxuan's home and ransack it. They did not find any Dafa related materials but they did take away two mirrors with the words, "Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance" written on them. Since the officers considered these two mirrors "criminal evidence" that Mr. Zheng practiced Falun Gong, they arrested and detained him for ten days.

9. [Guangzhou City, Guangdong Province] Ms. Zhang Lixia Arrested on July 20, 2009; Her Whereabouts is Unknown
10. [Shuangyashan City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Hu Qili Arrested
Ms. Hu Qili, her husband, and their daughter were arrested on the night of July 20, 2009. Since then, Dafa practitioners in the area have been frequently harassed by members of their community, their employers, and every local police station. Ms. Hu's daughter and husband were released on July 22, 2009.
11. [Huangchuan County, Henan Province] Ms. Liu Dingqun Arrested and Taken to Guangdong Province Women's Labor Camp
On April 24, 2009, Ms. Liu Dingqun, from Huangchuan County, was reported for clarifying the truth. Officers from the Dongcheng Police Station in Dongcheng District, Dongguan City arrested her then took her back to the police station. On the night of April 25, she was transferred to the Niushan Second Detention Center in Dongguan City. On June 9, 2009, she was detained at the Guangdong Province Women's Forced Labor Camp in Sanshui District, Foshan City. Her family members were not allowed to visit her.
12. [Yi County, Liaoning Province] Officers from the Qianyang Township Police Station Had Planned to Persecute Ms. Yang Suzhen
Around July 17 or July 18, 2009, officers from the Qianyang Township Police Station in Yi County, arrested Ms. Yang Suzhen then took her to the Yi County Police Department. Because she is an elderly woman, the Yi County Police Department refused to accept her. The officers from the Qianyang Township Police Station did not want to release her without causing her some trouble, so they went to her home and ransacked it, hoping to find a reason to detain her. When couldn't find any evidence to incriminate her, they were forced to release her.

13. [Jianping County, Liaoning Province] Ms. Zhang Yuzhen Arrested
On the morning of July 22, 2009, officers from the Zhuluke Town Police Station in Jianping County arrested 66- year-old Ms. Zhang Yuzhen, and detained her at the Jianping County Second Detention Center.
14. [Dalian City, Liaoning Province] The Couple Mr. Zhang He and Ms. Song Yuxiang Arrested
On July 22, 2009, more than twenty police officers arrested Mr. Zhang and Ms. Song Yuxiang then ransacked their shop in Zhuang River area in Dalian City. They seized about 20,000 yuan in cash along with many personal items.
Ms. Zhang Li from the Zhuang River area was arrested on the same day, but was later released.

15. [Hailongjiang Province] Officers from Harbin City Domestic Security Division Harassed Practitioners
Between 5 p.m. and 6 p.m. on July 20, 2009, seven or eight police officers in four patrol cars from the Harbin City Domestic Security Division, went to Mr. Li Mingcheng and Mr. Sun Zhenjiang's homes in the Shangjiagou Village, Daoli District, and harassed them.
16. [Anshan City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Jin Suyan and Ms. Jin Ying Arrested
Ms. Jin Suyan and Ms. Jin Ying in Anshan City were arrested on the afternoon of July 12, 2009, by officers from the Dadaowan Police Station. They are currently being detained at the Anshan City Third Detention Center.

17. [Fushun City, Liaoning Province] Hua Was Taken to the Nangou Detention Center in Fushun City
On the afternoon of July 24, 2009, officers from the Cigou Police Station in Dongzhou District, Fushu City detained Hua at the Nangou Detention Center for fifteen days.
18. [Baishan City, Jilin Province] Ms. Wu Chuanru is Still Detained after Completing Her Term
Ms. Wu Chuanru, from the Jiangyuan District, Baishan City has been jailed at the Second Division of the Haizhuizi Forced Labor Camp in Changchun City since December 2007. Although her term expired more than a month ago, she is still being detained.
19. [Baishan City, Jilin Province] Mr. Liu Jinsheng Forced to Undergo Brainwashing
On July 21, 2009, Mr. Liu Jinsheng, from Dongsheng Street in Jiangyuan District, Baishan City, was arrested at her work place by officers from the Jiangyuan District Domestic Security Division, and forced to undergo brainwashing at the Xieli Primary School. Mr. Liu was sentenced to fifteen months of forced labor in February 2008 and was released last May. Since his release, he was harassed again.

20. [Songyuan City, Jilin Province] Ms. Yu Xigui's Home Was Searched; Family Members Arrested
At around 7 a.m. on July 22, 2009, the Hongquan Village Police Station in Songyuan City "illegally searched" Ms. Yu Xigui's home, seized her printer, notebook computer, Falun Gong books, MP4 player, satellite dish, TV, over 20,000 yuan in cash, and other personal items. Ms. Yu managed to flee but her husband and daughter were arrested on separate occasions and detained at a local detention center.
21. [Changchun City, Jilin Province] Ms. Han Yunying Escaped after Being Harassed by Police Officers
On the morning of July 22, 2009, police officers lead by Sun Chenshan, deputy director of the Dehui City Domestic Security Division, searched Ms. Han Yunying's home and seized her personal computer and cell phone. Ms. Han managed to escape.

22. [Liaoning Province] Three Practitioners Detained at the Fushun Brainwashing Camp
Between July 16 and 17, 2009, Mr. Zhang Yongzhan, along with Li, and one other regiment-level army personnel who were stationed near the Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center in Gansu Province, were taken to the Fushun Brainwashing Camp. All three practitioners are in their late 30s.
23. [Beijing] Ms. Xu Wei Detained at the Fengtai Detention Center
On the morning of July 16, 2009, officers from the Fengtai Police Department and the Majiabao Police Station broke into Ms. Xu Wei's home and arrested her. The police destroyed her furniture, seized her personal computer and printer, then secured her home so that no one could enter. Ms. Xu is currently being detained at the Fengtai Detention Center.

24. [Heze City, Shandong Province] Husband and Wife Arrested
Mr. Li Xuedao and Ms. Zhu Cuilan, both from Cao County, were arrested and then had their home ransacked. They were later taken to a local detention center. Mr. Li is a retiree from the local Appeal Bureau and had previously been detained for practicing Falun Gong.
25. [Tongbai County, Henan Province] Ms. Xiao Wen Arrested on July 21, 2009
26. [Beizhen City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Yi Yanhui Arrested
At around 7 p.m. on July 21, 2009, officers from the Guangning Police Department searched Ms. Yi Yanhui's home then tricked her into going down to the police station under the pretense of needing to ask her a few questions. Around midnight, Ms. Yi's daughter got a call from her mother telling her that she was taken to the Jinzhou Detention Center.
27. [Linghai City, Liaoning Province] Mr. Li Qinghua Arrested
At around 2 p.m. on July 24, 2009, officers from the Jinzhou City Police Department searched Mr. Li Qinghui's home and arrested him. They later seized a computer, two printers, and Falun Dafa fliers. Mr. Li lives in the Chaodianzi Village, Nanshuan Village, Daye Township, Linghai City. His whereabout is unknown.
28. [Panjin City, Liaoning Province] Mr. Liu Hong's Home Searched; His Wife Arrested
At noon of July 24, 2009, officers from the Dawa County Police Department searched Mr. Liu Hong's home and confiscated his Falun Dafa books. Mr. Li was not home at the time, but the police arrested his wife and took her away.
29. [Beijing] Ms. Pan Sujuan Arrested
On July 24, 2009, officers from the Haidian Police Station arrested Ms. Pan Sujuan while she was distributing Divine Performing Arts DVDs.
30. [Inner Mongolia] Mr. Wu San Arrested
On the morning of July 24, 2009, Mr. Wu San was detained without an explanation while he was applying for his identification card in Zhongqi Town in Lanchabu City. The police later searched his home and seized his computer. Mr. Wu remains in custody.
31. [Chongqing] Ms. Qiu Cuixiang Arrested
On the afternoon of July 23, 2009, Ms. Qiu Cuixiang decided to go shopping with her sister. While they were buying clothes in a shop in Yangjianping area, Ms. Qiu handed a charm amulet to a cashier. They were arrested shortly after the cashier turned the amulet over to a security guard.
On the evening of July 23, 2009, officers from the Yangjiaping Police Station searched Ms. Qiu's home and seized Falun Dafa related materials. Her sister was released the following day but Ms. Qiu is still being held at the Huayan Detention Center in the Jiulongpo District.
32. [Longyan City, Fujian Province] Mr. Wang Shunping Was Arrested on July 22, 2009 and Taken to the Longyan City Detention Center
33. [Guangzhou City, Guangdong Province] Ms. Tang Liqun Taken to the Chatou Brainwashing Camp
Ms. Tang Liqun lives in the Tianhe District, Guangzhou City. In the middle of July, officers from the Domestic Security Division of Tianhe District Police Department arrested Ms. Tang, then later searched her home. She is currently being detained at the newly constructed Chatou Brainwashing Camp.
34. [Hengyang City, Hunan Province] Xinhua Police Station Arrested Ms. He Xiqiu and Other Practitioners
Between 9 p.m. and 10 p.m. on July 20, 2009, Wu Jianming, director of the Xinhua Police Station, along with several police officers, stormed into Ms. He Xiqiu's home and arrested her and her husband along with Ms. Huang, Ms. Cai, and Ms. Wen. After turning their home upside down, the officers seized Falun Dafa books and other equipment worth over 5,000 yuan. Ms. He, Ms. Cai, and Ms. Wen are currently being detained at the Baishazhou Detention Center.
