(Clearwisdom.net) On July 18, the British Guardian newspaper published an article by reporter Peter Beaumont. It mentioned that, after ten years, the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) persecution of Falun Gong, which used to be such a public spectacle, is now following a hidden, underground agenda.

There are multiple reasons why the CCP's persecution of Falun Gong has gone underground. First, the public persecution has run its course and can no longer be sustained openly. In 2001, CCP leaders Jiang Zemin and Luo Gan staged the "Tiananmen Self Immolation" in an attempt to frame Falun Gong. At that time, it indeed deceived many people and intensified the persecution. Yet, even if the "Tiananmen Self Immolation" fooled some people who did not know the truth for a short time, it could not cover up the facts forever. The staged "immolation" revealed, on close analysis, that it was a stunt meant to vilify Falun Gong. Through this incident, many people recognized the truth about the evil persecution, much to the detriment of the CCP and its leader, Jiang.

Falun Gong practitioners expended great efforts to expose and resist the persecution, and so the practice evolved into a strong force that could not be stopped. It affected the strength of the persecution after reaching its peak with the "Self Immolation" event. This turned into a dilemma for the CCP. Beginning in 2003, the CCP adopted a strategy called "loose outside but tight inside," turning the persecution from a public spectacle into a hidden, underground agenda. CCP insiders call it "a war without smoke."

The persecution of Falun Gong went from "public" to "underground" as the CCP tried to cover up the persecution and direct people's attention elsewhere. From the very beginning, the CCP's attack on Falun Gong was illegal. It was illegal not only by Western standards but also according to the laws and Constitution of China. The CCP operated totally outside the law. The ideal plan, according to the CCP, was to "eliminate Falun Gong" within three months. However, more than forty "three months" have passed, and the CCP still has not eliminated Falun Gong. Thus the goal is to divert attention away from the issue of Falun Gong; otherwise, many people will stand up and protest the persecution.

After the persecution went underground, the CCP sought to deceive the public, claiming that that the persecution had been "successful." They claimed that Falun Gong was defeated and that Falun Gong had disappeared from China, trying to re-direct international attention away from their human rights problems.

This new persecution policy concealed and made secret the true situation. The CCP did not ease up the persecution, but became afraid of people learning the truth. They wanted people to forget about this and not be held responsible for their evil deeds. The CCP worked hard to improve its image, to fool those who didn't know the truth, so that people would not lose hope in the Party. The Party simply wanted to extend its life.

Many insightful people realized that the CCP was unable to eliminate Falun Gong. Even today, the CCP still lists Falun Gong as its "No. 1 Enemy." However, it is not able to destroy Falun Gong. Outside of China, Falun Gong's popularity is growing, having spread to more than 110 countries. Inside China, tens of millions of Falun Gong practitioners remain firm in their belief despite the inhuman atrocities, something beyond the understanding of the CCP.

The CCP's vicious persecution of Falun Gong has gone underground, evidence that, in the war between good and evil, the evil CCP is weakening, while the resistance by Falun Gong practitioners against the persecution is increasing. Falun Gong's popularity throughout the world is growing rapidly, and the truth about Falun Gong is settling deeper and deeper into people's hearts. More and more people who believe in justice are supporting Falun Gong.

Because of its evil nature, as long as the CCP exists, even for one day, it will not stop the persecution. However, the fact that the CCP is having to carry out the persecution underground is a clear indication that its strategy has already failed.
