On September 7, 2009, her family went to visit her, but they were not allowed to see her. That afternoon, the guards brutally force-fed her, causing her death.

On March 22, 2006, Ms. Wang was arrested by Zhuozhou City Domestic Security agent Yang Yugang and others from her family-owned store. They ransacked her home, detained her for seven days, and extorted 1000 yuan from her.

On August 31, 2009, Yang Yugang led a group of agents to arrest Ms. Wang Huilan again, but she was not home. When she came back with her friend Ms. Xie Haiying the next day, they were both arrested.

Ms. Xie Haiying was released, but she is currently under strict surveillance by the police.

Details of Ms. Wang Huilan's death following her recent arrest are still under investigation.
