(Clearwisdom.net) Two recent news reports on Shen Yun Performing Arts appear to have nothing in common when read separately, but contain profound implications when considered together.

Shen Yun Performing Arts touring company presented two shows in Birmingham, Alabama on August 21 and 22. The audience members were amazed at how Shen Yun performers revealed the richness of five-thousand-years of Chinese history with dazzling vocal and dance performances. Many local officials, including Larry P. Langford (mayor of Birmingham), Alberto C. Zaragoza, Jr. (mayor of Vestavia Hills), and Linda Coleman (state representative), issued proclamations or congratulatory letters to Shen Yun, singing the praises of its high-caliber performances and welcoming Shen Yun to Alabama for its first visit.

The second report is about a young Chinese woman named Shen in Rockville, Maryland. Shen tore up a Shen Yun poster on the window of a dry cleaners in early July and the district court in Rockville held a trial her on August 18. Since it was her first offense, the judge ordered that she compensate the economic damages suffered by the dry cleaning establishment's owner and perform a total of 24 hours of community service. Because she now has an arrest record, Shen will face more serious consequences should she ever break the law again.
Chinese People Around the World are Brainwashed by the CCP
According to news reports, on the morning of July 7, defendant Shen and her mother stepped out of a restaurant. When they passed a dry cleaner, Shen suddenly became enraged and rushed into the store. She tore up the Shen Yun poster displayed on the window before turning around to shred the Shen Yun flyers placed on the counter. She also threw the candies set out for customers to the floor, all the while cursing and shouting at the Korean-American owner, "I dare you to have the guts to call the cops!" The owner immediately called the police, who quickly arrived and ordered Shen to stop tearing up the flyers and to pick up the shredded pieces scattered everywhere. Shen refused to cooperate and was thus arrested. The police searched her for weapons before taking her to a detention center in Rockville. The state government charged her with several crimes, including damaging private property.
Defendant Shen has lived in the States for many years and just received her doctorate not long ago. Many people were puzzled by her behavior and thought she must be psychotic. Some medical experts call such a phenomenon among overseas Chinese people "cognitive disorder." But those who are familiar with what's going on attribute such behavioral abnormality to the Chinese Communist Party's (CCP) brainwashing and ability to manipulate people. People like Shen are often poisoned by the CCP culture and their bizarre behaviors have nothing to do with psychosis, social status or level of education.
Why would Shen get so angry with a harmless and beautiful Shen Yun poster? The underlying reason is that the CCP's brainwashing incited her hatred. What happened to Shen, that is, earning a criminal record, should give those who still harbor hatred in their minds something to consider, and help them to reflect where their hatred is coming from. I hope they do not ruin their future with their irrational behaviors.

CCP tries to obstruct Shen Yun performances from various angles
Shen Yun Performing Arts began touring the world in 2006 and their performances have won the hearts of audiences worldwide because of their excellent artistry and the unique content that is deeply rooted in five thousand years of Chinese traditional culture. However, the CCP has been constantly interfering with Shen Yun performances. Its embassies and consulates as well as secret agents have tried their utmost to obstruct Shen Yun performances. However, their attempts have ended in defeat again and again.
Before Shen Yun started their world tour, the communist regime tried various means to obstruct the show, such as by harassing its sponsors, blocking ticket hotlines, and mobilizing overseas Chinese students to interfere and stop audience members from entering the theaters. When the regime's agents saw that these attempts did not work, they resorted to threats.
On January 6, 2009, the Chinese Consulate in Frankfurt sent a letter in the form of a State diplomatic correspondence to the Premier's Office of Hesse, Germany and foreign consulates in the state of Hesse to slander Shen Yun. CCP's tactics were exposed; evil can never prevail over righteousness
Despite the communist regime's relentless efforts to stop the show, many people in different countries have shown their support and love for Shen Yun by responding with thunderous applause and high praise. People openly condemn the ridiculous harassments from the communist regime. Experience has shown that the regime's harassments have not only failed to defame Shen Yun, but on the contrary, they have actually enabled more people from various countries to both more clearly see the evil nature of the Communist Party and conversely the beauty of Shen Yun. By its irrational actions, the CCP has established itself as an enemy of traditional culture and moral values.
The CCP's attempts to suppress Shen Yun Performing Arts overseas always ends up helping advertise Shen Yun in the end. Some Germans said that, because of the CCP's interference, they were more willing to come to the theater to support Shen Yun. Attorney Mr. Fabricius said he decided to come watch the show after reading news reports about the CCP's activities to interfere with Shen Yun in the "Southern Germany Newspaper." Dr. Fabricius indicated he knew about the persecution of Falun Gong and he felt the show was extraordinary and pure grandeur. His final response after seeing the show was, "I feel proud of Chinese people." One German congressman, after getting the information, immediately decided to come and watch the show in person. An international human rights organization, whose headquarters are based in Frankfurt, exposed the slanderous letter on its website, condemning the Chinese Consulate for trying to "interfere with cultural liberty on the soil of Germany."
The CCP is afraid of China's traditional culture and values
The content of Shen Yun performance depicts the essence of China's five thousand years of traditional culture, and has greatly inspired its audience members. Men and women, young and old, people from all walks of life and from various nationalities have all been deeply touched in their hearts and Shen Yun Performing Arts has won great respect from people around the world.
Why is it then that the communist regime tries so hard to interfere with such a prestigious show that promotes China's traditional culture? The reason is that the regime has for a long time suppressed freedom and human rights, especially during the "Cultural Revolution" when China's traditional culture and values were attacked and almost completely destroyed, in a deliberate effort to brainwash and terrorize the Chinese people. Shen Yun Performing Art's world tour has caused a sensation around the world, stirring up a wave of admiration and desire to return to China's traditional culture and values. This has scared the atheist communist regime and made it uneasy.
