(Clearwisdom.net) Today's News from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 15 cities or counties in 10 provinces. In this report, 25 Falun Gong practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention and at least 10 practitioners were illegally arrested.

1. [Shenzhen, Guangdong] Mr. Jiang Shanliang and Ms. Tong Lin Facing Illegal Trial

On September 12, 2009, Mr. Jiang Shanliang and his wife, Tong Lin, from Baoan, Shenzhen, were arrested by officers from the Gongle Police Station and the State Security Team. The Baoan District Court planned to try them at 9:20 a.m. on January 18, 2010.

2. [Changsha City, Hunan Province] Additional Information about the Arrest of Ms. Xiao Jiahua and Two Other Practitioners

On December 16, 2009, Ms. Li Mei and Ms. Lan Xi went to visit Ms. Xiao Jiahua, who works at the Pingtang Forced Labor Camp in Wangcheng County. At around 4 p.m., they were reported to police and were arrested by officers from the Pingtang Police Station. The police confiscated what they were carrying. That day, the three practitioners were taken to the Changsha Detention Center. After the detention center refused to accept them, they were taken to the Changsha Jail. Ms. Li Mei and Ms. Lan Xi were going to be detained for 15 days; Ms. Xiao Jiahua, for 10 days. During the arrest, Ms. Li Mei's leg was injured. As a result, she was released the next day. The other two practitioners are still being detained.

3. [Wuwei, Gansu Province] Ms. Han Xiuzhen Sentenced to Three Years in Prison

Ms. Han Xiuzhen was born on July 6, 1931. On December 10, 2000, she was arrested because she went to Beijing to talk to people about Falun Gong. On April 28, 2003, she was arrested by police from the Liangzhou District Procuratorate. On December 26, 2003, the Liangzhou District Court sentenced her to four years in prison. Due to her physical condition, she was released to serve her term outside of prison. On November 20, 2009, Ms. Han was sentenced to three years in prison.

4. [Jiamusi City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Wen Ying and Ms. Wu Qilian Persecuted and Their Families Fined

On the morning of June 17, 2008, Ms. Wen Ying and Ms. Wu Qilian went to the Jiamusi Railway Detention Center to visit detained fellow practitioners. They were arrested by police officers Wang Fengjun and Yang Hua from the Railway Public Security Section. They, along with the guards of the detention center, searched the two practitioners' bags. The practitioners did not cooperate, so they were beaten and detained in the Railway Detention Center.

One month later, the two practitioners were transferred to Xigemu Forced Labor Camp in Jiamusi. Their families went to retrieve their belongings from their bags, including cash, cell phones, electronic books, MP3 players, and keys, but those items have never been returned. Their families asked around for help in rescuing them. Finally, after being detained for almost six months, they were released after their families had paid out more than 10,000 yuan.

5. [Shanghai City] Ms. Han Chunyan Arrested and Persecuted

On the morning of December 24, 2009, police from the 610 Office went to the home of Ms. Han Chunyan to arrest her. Since she had gone shopping, they just waited at her home. As soon as she arrived at home, she was taken away by the police, even though they did not follow any legal procedures.

Ms. Han Chunyan has been arrested six times. The accumulated detention time is about 7 years.

6. [Nanchang City, Jiangxi Province] Ms. Zhou Dongmei Arrested

Ms. Zhou Dongmei, 60 years old, was reported on December 23, 2009, while she was distributing Falun Gong materials near the courtyard of the Nanchang Province Government. On December 24, 2009, she was taken to the Yuzhang Police Station. That night, the police searched her home and took away several copies of Master Li's lectures and Zhuan Falun. Now she is being detained in the Nanchang First Detention Center.

7. [Chongqing City] Ms. Jiang Yourong Detained

Ms. Jiang Yourong is a retired teacher from the Chongqing City Party School. On December 4, 2009, she was arrested by officers from the Guojiatuo Police Station while she was distributing Falun Gong materials in Guojiatuo, the Jiangbei District, Chongqing City. She is being detained in the Fusheng Detention Center in Jiangbei District.

8. [Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Qiu Shufen Sent to the Jiamusi Detention Center

At about 10 a.m. on December 25, 2009, three officers from the Jiadong Police Station rushed into the home of Ms. Qiu Shufen in the residential area of the Power Plant. They took Dafa books and VCDs and brochures about Falun Gong. Ms. Qiu was also taken to the Jiadong Police Station. That night, she was sent to the Jiamusi Detention Center.

9. [Weihai City, Shandong Province] Mr. Yuan Minghua Arrested on December 25, 2009

10. [Fusong County, Jilin Province] Mr. Sun Chengdao Persecuted

On December 25, 2009, Mr. Sun Chengdao from Beigang Town was arrested by officers from the Beigang Police Station. The police also searched his home and took away one copy of Zhuan Falun and one copy of Hong Yin. He is being held in the Fusong Detention Center.

11. [Chongqing City] Three Elderly Practitioners Sentenced

It was said that the Dazhu County Court tried three elderly practitioners before October 1, 2009. Mr. Liu Shurong, in his 60s, was sentenced to five years in prison; Mr. Shi Dingfu, in his 70s, three years; Mr. Jiang Changwu, in his 60s, also three years. All of them are to serve their sentences outside of prison because of their physical conditions.

12. [Shijiazhuang City, Hebei Province] Ms. Rong Xiuzhen Detained in the Shijiazhuang First Detention Center

On July 4, 2008, Ms. Rong Xiuzhen was arrested by officers from the Jianan Police Station in the Qiaodong District. That night she was taken to the Shijiazhuang First Detention Center. On October 8, 2008, she was taken to the Qiaodong District Court for her first hearing. On April 23, 2009, she was taken to court a second time. No verdict was ever reached because of insufficient evidence.

13. [Donggang City, Liaoning Province] Additional Information about Donggang Practitioners

At about 6 a.m. on December 22, 2009, police from the 610 Offices and police departments in Dandong and Donggang cities arrested 14 practitioners and ransacked their homes. The police took away computers, printers, and hundreds of thousands of yuan in cash.

Ten practitioners are still being detained, including Mr. Wang Chunhua, Mr. Wang Fuhua, Ms. Wang Lichun, Ms. Sun Jing, Ms. Sun Fuchang, Mr. Zhang Xiaoping, Mr. Zhang Wei, Ms. Jiang Xiaoli, Ms. Yu Shuxin, and a practitioner with the surname of Zou. It was said that they have been sent to Dandong.

Four practitioners have been released. They are Mr. Liu Yanjun, Ms. Teng Xiuling, Ms. Liu Shufang and Ms. Shao Jun. Mr. Liu Yanjun cannot move his legs as a result of persecution. Ms. Teng Xiuling had a heart attack and was unconscious. Ms. Liu Shufang is still being hospitalized because of a heart attack.

14. [Inner Mongolia] Information about the First Division of Tumuji Forced Labor Camp

The following practitioners are being detained in the First Division of the Tumuji Forced Labor Camp: Ms. Zheng Jun and Mr. Sun Zhizhuan from Zhangjiakou; Mr. Li Jianqing and Mr. Xin Yongxiao from Chengde; Mr. Wang Zhanqing from Langfang, Hebei Province; and Mr. Wu Nanjie from Fuxin, Liaoning Province.

Ms. Gao Yuxiang is on a hunger strike to protest the persecution. Her arms and legs were tied up and she was forcefully injected with a drug(s). She was also brainwashed and pushed outdoors to freeze.
