(Clearwisdom.net) Today's News from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 13 cities or counties in eight provinces. As per this report, 14 practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention, and at least 16 practitioners were illegally arrested.
1. [Qiqihar City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Li Peixian and Ms. Li Yaoguang Sentenced to Five Years in Prison
Qiqihar City 610 Office agents instructed a group of officials from the Tiefeng Police Department to ransack the home of Ms. Li Peixian. Ms. Li lives in Sijiazi Village in the Tiefeng District. The incident happened on the evening of January 6, 2010. They illegally sentenced Li Peixian and her daughter Li Yaoguang to five years' incarceration and took them to the Harbin Women's Prison.

2. [Qiqihar City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Jiang Yuehong, Ms. Luo Ying, and Ms. Ren Ping Face Imprisonment - Belated Information
Longsha Police Department 610 Office head Gao and other officials arrested Ms. Jiang Yuehong, Ms. Ren Ping, and Ms. Luo Ying--among others--around April 20, 2001. They tortured the practitioners by taking turns interrogating them, subjecting them to sleep deprivation, hanging them upside down, and handcuffing their arms behind their backs. Ms. Jiang was hung up and savagely tortured in other ways. Later, she developed uterine fibroids and profuse hemorrhaging She was ashen and taken to the No. 2 Hospital. Officials from the Longsha Police Department's 610 Office told her family to take her home on September 26, 2001, when she was near death.
As of now, Ms. Jiang is still emaciated and often needs blood transfusions. Longsha District officials are trying to sentence Ms. Jiang, Ms. Luo, and Ms. Ren to prison.

3. [Mianzhu City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Yin Guangsu Arrested
Officials from the Chengzhong Police Station in Mianzhu City and the Tianhe District burst into Ms. Yin Guangsu's private shop the afternoon of October 18, 2010. They deceived her into going with them to Chengzhong Police Station and later drove her away in a police vehicle, saying they would detain her for 15 days.

4. [Shanghai] Ms. Wang Wenju and Mr. Zou Weijun Arrested
Ms. Wang Wenju, 58, and her husband, 61-year-old Zou Weijun, a middle school teacher, were arrested the afternoon of October 16, 2010, when they were speaking with someone about Falun Gong at a fruit shop in Luodian Town, the Baoshan District. Two officers from the Baoshan District Domestic Security Division and an officer from the Luodian Town Police Station broke into their son's home. It is located in the Songnan New Village in the Baoshan District where the couple was staying and ransacked the residence. Later that night, the officials held them at the Baoshan District Detention Center.

5. [Shandong Province] Ms. Wang Rufeng Arrested by Officials from the Shengli Oilfield 610 Office
Officials from the 610 Office and Binhai Police Station arrested Ms. Wang Rufeng, an employee of Shangli Oilfield Education Institute. It happened on the morning of October 19, 2010. They ransacked her home that same day.
6. [Guangan, Sichuan Province] Mr. Liu Yougui and Mr. Wang Chaowen Taken to a Brainwashing Facility
Mr. Liu Yougui from Wusheng, Guangan, and Mr. Wang Chaowen from Zhonghe Town, Yuechi County, were arrested around October 1, 2010, and taken to the Wusheng Brainwashing Facility.
7. [Qianan City, Hebei Province] Ms. Xu Aihua Arrested
Ms. Xu Aihua from Chajigou Village, Jianchangying Town, is around 40 years old. She was arrested on the afternoon of October 16, 2010, as she spoke with someone about the Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party in Caochang Village. Her whereabouts are unknown.
Ms. Xu was previously arrested around 2002 and held at a detention center for 15 days, and again arrested prior to the 2008 Olympics and held at brainwashing facility and detention center for nearly a month. She was released once her family paid nearly 8,000 yuan in cash.
8. [Zaoqiang County, Hebei Province] Mr. Zhang Hongguo Arrested in Zhangjiakou City
Officers from the Jianguo Road Police Station in Zhangjiakou City arrested Mr. Zhang Hongguo the evening of October 16, 2010. We assume the police were able to track him down when he checked into a hotel because his name is on an online "wanted" list.
9. [Jinzhou City, Hebei Province] Mr. Li Baoquan Harassed by Police
Zhao Guibin, head of Jinzhou City Domestic Security Division, and four police officers went to Li Baoquan's home in Qidi Village, Qidi Township, on the morning of October 18, 2010, and tried to ransack his home but failed because Mr. Li resisted.
10. [Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Liu Guixia and Ms. Wang Yarong Arrested
Officers from the Hailun City Police Department arrested Ms. Liu Guixia and Ms. Wang Yarong on the afternoon of October 18, 2010.

11. [Hubei Province] Mr. Cheng Zipeng Held in Fanjiatai Prison
Mr. Cheng Zipeng was illegally sentenced to four years in prison. His family from Anlu City rode four different buses to Fanjiatai Prison on May 26, 2010, and asked to see him, but the authorities denied their request. They have not seen him in more than two years.
12. [Guangzhou City, Guangdong Province] Ms. Peng Tieying Arrested
Officers from the Haizhu District Police Station arrested Ms. Peng Tieying and Ms. Lian in mid-September 2010. Ms. Lian's blood pressure rose to a dangerous level, and she was released after 15 days in police custody. Ms. Peng is still being held.
13. [Xinzheng City, Henan Province] Ms. Jia Jinhui and Others Held in the Xinzheng City Detention Center
Ms. Jia Jinhui, Ms. Zhang Shuling, and Ms. Chen Xiaoni were arrested by officers from Xuedian Town Police Station and are now in the Xinzheng City Detention Center.

Officers from the Minhang District Police Department in Shanghai went to Hunan Province and arrested local practitioner Ms. Shi Jinhua on June 4, 2010. She has been held at the Minhang District Detention Center.
18. [Chongqing ] Ms. Hu Kaijun Imprisoned
Ms. Hu Kaijun from Wangjiapo, Wanzhou, is in her 50s. She and her non-practitioner husband, Zhang Shanlin, were arrested right after they got off their flight from Xinjiang to Chongqing at the Jiangbei Airport in Chongqing at 10 p.m. on September 25, 2010. Their mobile phones and notebook computers were confiscated. Their families did not see them at the airport. They only found out the next day that Ms. Hu had been taken to Zhoujiaba Prison in Wanzhou. Zhang Shanlin has returned home to Wangjiapo, but the police have forbidden him from leaving home.

Mr. Li Wolong from Pingjiang County was recently arrested again and sentenced to three years in prison.

21. [Chengdu City, Sichuan Province] Additional Information Regarding the Arrest of Ms. Du Fengqin
Several officers from the Chenghua District Qinglong Police Department in Chengdu City broke into the home of Ms. Du Fengqin. Ms. Du is employed at the Chenghua District Petroleum Bureau Petroleum Research Institute. The arrest happened on the afternoon of October 13, 2010. They ransacked her home and took her to the Qinglong Police Department and subsequently took her and Ms. Liu Wenxin to the Chenghua District Brainwashing Facility.

22. [Jilin City, Jilin Province] Ms. Liu Mingke Force-fed Potent Drugs - Belated Information
Ms. Liu Mingke from Jilin City was force-fed powerful drugs by a so-called "doctor" surnamed Li, in his 30s, in a Beijing detention center in late October 1999. Ms. Liu was held in solitary confinement following the abuse. Ten minutes later she experienced difficulty breathing, dizziness, profuse sweating, and severe all-over pain and later became semi-comatose.
