Mr. Li and his older brother, Mr. Li Donghong, are orphans. They have led a harsh life since they were young. The older brother was a freelance writer and made a living writing articles. His works were published in literary publications both inside and outside China. In 1993, Mr. Li Donghong started practicing Falun Gong, as did his younger brother, Mr. Li Hongyu. Mr. Li Donghong has been arrested and persecuted numerous times for having remained steadfast in his belief, and is currently being held in Guizhou Prison.
Mr. Li Hongyu has been seeking help everywhere possible trying to rescue his older brother, and now he himself has been arrested, leaving his disabled wife and child uncared for at home.
Four more practitioners from Dafang County were also arrested recently. They are: Yu Shirong, Xu Demin, Zhang Zeyu, and Chen Yong. Local 610 Office agents harassed several more practitioners by "revisiting" them.
