(Clearwisdom.net) In 2002, the Jianshan District Court illegally sentenced practitioner Ms. Lou Weiming, of Shuangyashan City, Heilongjiang Province, to ten years in Harbin Women's Prison. She was tortured while in prison, and twice suffered a cerebral hemorrhage.

The first time she suffered a stroke was between late 2004 and the early 2005. At that time the prison implemented high pressure tactics, and terrorizing persecution in a high-tension atmosphere. Ms. Lou suffered a cerebral hemorrhage as a result and was not able to take care of herself. She later recovered to some extent.

In early 2007 prison officials implemented "high pressure assault" to force Falun Gong practitioners to give up their practice. They moved Ms. Lou from the Patient Monitoring District to the Second Supervised District to persecute her further.

In early September 2010, Ms. Lou was experiencing prolonged abuse and humiliation by a prisoner named Ma Huimin, which lead to a second stroke. At around two o'clock in the afternoon on September 9, 2010, she was taken by ambulance to the emergency room of a hospital outside the prison. An official from the Second Supervised District leaked the news, saying that Ms. Lou suffered a cerebral hemorrhage due to high blood pressure.

It is not uncommon for officials at Harbin Women's Prison to encourage prisoners to beat, insult, and abuse Falun Gong practitioners. In 2005 another practitioner, Ms. Du Jinglan of Daowai the District, Harbin City, also suffered a stroke in this prison and lost her life as a result.
