(Clearwisdom.net) I am a high school teacher, presently a director of the school where I work. I attained the Fa in 1997, and in my more than ten years of cultivation, with Teacher's salvation, I have kept on cultivating my xinxing, eliminating attachments, and doing the three things earnestly with righteous thoughts and actions. On the path to divinity, I do not have many dramatic experiences or touching stories, but rather a story of walking steadfastly step-by-step.
1. Attaining the Fa
I used to be a qigong amateur and practiced many kinds of qigong. At that time, I practiced qigong neither for curing diseases nor for supernormal abilities, I just was interested in the practice. Whenever I walked into a bookstore, I would stop by the qigong books section. One day, I bought a copy of Zhuan Falun in a bookstore. The deeper meanings of the book attracted me deeply. I finished reading the book in one go, then began to learn the exercises following the illustrations. Soon afterwards, I ran into the local practice site. I got rid of all the materials of other qigong practices and began to practice Falun Gong wholeheartedly.
To my surprise, when my wife, who used to be indifferent to qigong, witnessed that I gave up all the other qigong and only practiced Falun Gong, she displayed enormous interest and attention. Soon, she began to diligently practice Falun Gong. Also, she promoted Falun Gong to her friends and relatives. Later, my son and my father also began to practice Falun Gong. My mother, mother-in-law, daughter-in-law, granddaughter and several other relatives began to understand Falun Gong.
2. Cultivating Xinxing and Eliminating Attachments
In 1997, soon after I attained the Fa, my workplace decided to build apartments for employees. A retired teacher who did not meet the apartment requirements tried every means to get one, but no one was willing to yield. At that time, as a leader of the school, I had a dilemma, but as a Falun Gong practitioner, Teacher's lessons reflected on me. Teacher said in the book of Zhuan Falun,
"I'll tell you a truth: the whole process of cultivation is a process of constantly getting rid of human attachments."
He also said,
"In the complicated environment of ordinary people, in the thick of those frictions that test your character, you have to manage to rise above it. That's just the hardest. What's hard about it is that when you get shortchanged and know it, or when something critical is at stake, are you affected inside?"(Zhuan Falun)
I understood immediately, so I yielded my allotment to him. Some people said I was a fool. I also felt I had suffered losses. In my heart of hearts, I still did not let it go, but I believed in what Teacher said and took that as cultivation.
As a leader and a teacher, I sometimes solve some practical problems for the teachers and parents, then they send me gifts to express gratitude, but I decline all of them. These were part of the tests I experienced during my cultivation.
Since the CCP began the persecution of Falun Gong on July 20, 1999, the three members of my family naturally formed a Fa study group. Following the coordinator's suggestion, I set up a family truth-clarifying materials site. During the process of studying the Fa and making materials, I found out my strong attachments, such as disliking criticism and focusing on reputation. During Fa study, I sometimes missed reading some characters, added some characters, or dozed off. When my wife pointed that out, I would feel upset. When making materials, I sometimes argued with my wife since our viewpoints were different. When I printed the materials on the wrong side of the paper, I felt unhappy when my wife pointed that out. Now and then we quarreled over such things. When my son heard the quarrel, he would remind us to look inwards, but I failed to do that. Only after I read Teacher's Teaching the Fa in the City of Los Angeles did I suddenly come to realize my shortcoming.
Measuring my conduct with Teacher's Fa, I blushed with shame. I realized that maybe my wife had criticized me unintentionally. Maybe Teacher was giving a hint to me in this way. Her mood and words were not important. What was important was that I find out my mistakes from her and correct them. This way, I can keep on improving and elevating.
3. Making Materials to Clarify the Truth
Since the CCP started the persecution of Falun Gong on July 20, 1999, the local coordinator made every effort and set up an informational materials site. After the site was destroyed by the evil, I set up my family site. My son was in charge of the computer operation, and my wife and I took the responsibilities of printing and binding. For the sake of security and efficiency, we strictly followed some policies. First, we studied the Fa a lot, sent forth righteous thoughts, kept on improving xinxing, and were not affected by external factors. Second, we recorded every penny donated by fellow practitioners and used all of the money for making materials. Third, we tried our best to ensure the quality of the material. All the content was from Minghui/Clearwisdom, and the binding was artistic and in good taste. Fourth, we adopted security measures at every step and the contact between the material site and coordinators was one-way. For the safety of delivering the materials, we chose a proper public place beforehand and delivered the materials there. Then the fellow practitioners would come to pick them up at the stated time. I seldom met the practitioners who picked up the materials. They also did not know the location of the material site and details. For more than ten years, when I ran into doubts while operating the material site, I could find answers and solutions from the Minghui website (Chinese version of Clearwisdom.net). I keenly felt that Teacher was looking after and protecting us all the time.
The materials we made included booklets, fliers, stickers. screen printings, banners, antithetical couplets, DVDs, VCDs, Teacher's books and other books. Before the setting up of other material sites, our materials covered the local county and neighboring counties and cities. For more than ten years, with the fellow practitioners' efforts and under Teacher's attention, the materials site operated smoothly.
Besides making the materials, I also used appropriate opportunities to clarify the truth about Dafa and urged people to quit the CCP and its affiliated organizations. Most of my relatives knew the truth about Dafa and quit the CCP. At the school where I worked, I also clarified the truth to my colleagues, sent them the materials, and urged them to quit the CCP. While teaching or in my speech at the all-student conference, I explained the truth about Dafa, discussed the efforts to expose Jiang Zemin's crimes in the International Court of Justice for persecuting Falun Gong, and sent out a righteous thought for them to learn the truth about Dafa further and quit the CCP.
4. Believing in the Fa Steadfastly and Keeping My Mind Unaffected
Due to the persecution, Falun Gong practitioners have been subjected to life-and-death tests. Teacher said,
"Your wish is to help Master rectify the Fa, and that is something that can only be achieved with righteous thoughts." (Be Vigilant)
I deeply believe that believing in Teacher and the Fa is the basis for cultivating righteous thoughts, and studying the Fa well is a guarantee for clarifying the truth and saving sentient beings. For more than ten years, I have been taking the Fa as teacher and forging ahead diligently to deny the old forces' arrangements and eliminate the evil. I gradually learned to treat the related things in cultivation and in society with righteous thoughts. I also did all I could to remain unaffected by the evil's interference. Meanwhile, I closely examined my every thought to see if it had broken away from the Fa. At the beginning of the persecution, when I heard that some practitioners were persecuted or read about some persecution cases, I could not help but connect them to myself and imagine a series of events. By studying the Fa, I realized that this perception was not correct, so I denied it firmly. Presently, I can basically achieve the status of believing in Teacher and the Fa steadfastly. As a result, I do not have any concern or fear in doing the three things and helping Teacher rectify the Fa, but rather I remain focused on the task at hand. The material site has been running smoothly.
A while ago, my hair by my temples looked gray. In the barber shop, the barber urged me to dye my hair. I told him that by practicing Falun Gong, one can look younger, and I had confidence that my white hair would turn black. I took this opportunity to clarify the truth about Dafa. My firm thought brought about wonders. Presently, I almost do not have any white hair, and my hair looks black and shiny.
For more than ten years, although I achieved a lot in validating the Fa and helping Teacher to rectify the Fa, I still have many insufficiencies in every aspect. I will lose no time to catch up and return with Master upon consummation.
