(Clearwisdom.net) Today's News from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in four cities or counties in two provinces. In this report, twelve practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention, and at least three practitioners were illegally arrested.

1. [Beijing] Mr. Wang Xiangwu Died of Serious Illness after Having Lived Away from Home for More than Two Years

Mr. Tao Fuchun and his brother Mr. Tao Fuming were arrested in mid-September, 2007 as they distributed information about Falun Gong in Yuegezhuang, Beijing. Yuegezhuan Police Station officers ransacked their homes and obtained contact information about other practitioners. As a result, more than a dozen practitioners including Ms. Ye Hong, Mr. Sun Guangyu, Mr. Sun Hongyuan, Ms. Li Yan, Mr. Yao Yufeng, Mr. Liu Kejie, Ms. Cao Shuxian, Ms. Song Minhui and Ms. Yang Guiyin were arrested. Mr. Wang Xiangwu, who was in his 70s, decided to live away from home, moving from place to place. His physical condition deteriorated, and he died in early February of 2010.

2. [Anda City, Heilongjiang Province] Mr. Sheng Yanqin Arrested

Mr. Sheng Yanqin, in his 40s and from Farm No. 81 in Anda City, was arrested on the evening of December 16, 2009 as he distributed information about Falun Gong in Qingkenpao Township. He was severely beaten and was held at the Anda City Detention Center. His father, in his later 70s, is left uncared for at home.

3. [Tianjin] Additional Information Regarding the Persecution of Ms. Wang Yuqin

Ms. Wang Yuqin, 48, went missing on December 9, 2009. Her family tried everything to try to find her and eventually learned that Fumin Road Police Station officers had arrested and taken her to the Caozhuangzi Detention Center. She was later transported to the Banqiao Forced Labor Camp. The guards instructed criminals to try to force her to renounce Falun Gong. Ms. Wang has suffered a nervous breakdown.

4. [Hubei Province] Ms. Liu Xiangrun Arrested on Chinese New Year's Eve

Ms. Liu Xiangrun, a teacher at the Jianli County Experimental High School, posted information about Falun Gong at the teachers' residential building at around 11:00 p.m. on February 13, 2010. The police arrested her and took her to the Jianli County Detention Center. They also ransacked her home and confiscated two computers and a printer.

5. [Beijing] Ms. Jin Xiuwen and Mr. Liu Xigong Held in Police Custody

Ms. Jin Xiuwen and Mr. Liu Xigong were recently transferred from the Xicheng District Detention Center to Beijing's No.1 Detention Center.
