(Clearwisdom.net) Mr. Wang Daguo, has been persecuted by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) on numerous occasions for his belief in Falun Gong. Twice he was detained for a month and forced to undergo brainwashing, and once he was sentenced to forced labor for 15 months.
Mr. Wang, now retired, worked for most of his life at the Mianyang section of the Ministry of Railways. He started to practice Falun Gong in 1999 and, before learning Falun Gong, suffered from quite a few serious illnesses, including kidney stones, jaundice, hepatitis, rheumatism, and chronic enteritis. All the diseases from which Mr. Wang suffered disappeared soon after he began practicing Falun Gong.
Even after the persecution began on July 20, 1999, Mr. Wang remained true to his faith and continued to tell people about Falun Gong and its persecution by the CCP. As a consequence he, himself, was brutally persecuted by the CCP.
Mr. Wang was persecuted for the first time in May 2004. He was arrested and taken to a the Deyang Brainwashing Center by police officers from Luoshui Township, including Wang Yongming, now at the Shifang Detention Center; Liao Yongjun, now director of the Saojiao police station; and Yang Jiayong. At the brainwashing center, Mr. Wang was persecuted day and night for 19 days after which he was released. He returned home to find that it had been ransacked by police who had removed his Dafa books and tapes in addition to a number of his personal belongings.
Just over a year later, on June 1, 2005, Mr. Wang took his granddaughter to school by bike. On his way home, he was arrested by officers Liu Huayou, Yang Jiayong, Zhang Yong, and Wang Wanfu of the Luoshui Township Police Station. The officers took Mr. Wang to the Donghushan Center in Deyang City, where brainwashing activities are directed by Liang Cheng, the deputy secretary of Shifang City Party Committee, and Liu Chun. Mr. Wang was persecuted at the Donghushan Center and forced to listen to articles that slandered Dafa. After more than ten days at Donghushan Center, Mr. Wang developed serious neurological disorders, including sleeplessness, nervousness, and loss of appetite. Mr. Wang refused to give up his belief in Falun Dafa, however, so he was detained until July 2, 2005, when he was so weak that it looked like he might die.
When Mr. Wang returned home, he could stand for only a few seconds at a time. He received injections of various medicines but nothing helped to improve his condition. One doctor even said that he would probably die. However, Mrs. Wang, a Falun Gong practitioner, thought that Teacher could save him, so she helped him to his feet and insisted that he practice the Falun Gong exercises and study the Fa. With blessings from Teacher, Mr. Wang recovered completely within one month.
On September 25, 2006, Ms. Chen Wenying, a relative of Mr. Wang, and another Falun Gong practitioner, Ms. Xiao Kaiqun, visited Mr. Wang. Police officers followed them to Mr. Wang's home and forced their way through the door where they searched Ms. Chen and Ms. Xiao and confiscated truth-clarifying materials that Ms. Xiao was carrying. The police then searched Mr. Wang's home, taking away a number of personal items, including his Dafa books, a DVD player, a speaker, and two tape recorders. Finally, Mr. Wang, Ms. Chen, and Ms. Xiao were all taken a detention center in Shifang and persecuted there for a month.
Just over a year later, on October 13, 2007, Mr. Wang was shopping on Liuhe Street in Luoshui Township when he was arrested by police officers Li Yong and Wu Guanghua, both of the Shifang Domestic Security Brigade; Lai Hong, now director of the Bajiao Township police station; and Tang Bo from the Luoshui Police Station. The four policemen choked Mr. Wang and then took him to the Yinghua Police Station for interrogation. Mr. Wang was then transferred to a detention center in Shifang, where he was held for approximately seven months. The Procuratorate of Shifang determined that Mr. Wang was innocent of any wrongdoing and ordered his release, but the detention center continued to hold him until July 2, 2008, when Li Yong and Wu Guanghua of the Shifang Domestic Security Brigade transported Mr. Wang to the notorious Xinhua Forced Labor Camp in Mianyang City.
At the Xinhua Forced Labor Camp, drug offenders and thieves are encouraged to persecute Falun Dafa practitioners. Those who actively and brutally persecute practitioners are rewarded with a reduction of their prison terms, while those who do not persecute practitioners may see their prison terms increased. This prompts the criminals to relentlessly persecute practitioners. All practitioners in the Xinhua Forced Labor Camp are forced to sign the three statements repudiating the practice of Falun Gong. Practitioners who refuse to sign the three statements are subjected to electric shocks or other tortures such as being forced to wear dirty, lice infected clothes; being denied permission to use the bathroom; or being forced to wear heavy military coats and helmets in the hot summer.
Mr. Wang Daguo was released from Xinhua Forced Labor Camp in January of 2009.
