(Clearwisdom.net) Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Wu Yinfeng from Jingyuan County (in Baiyin City of Gansu Province) has suffered inhumane torture repeatedly in the past ten years. Prior to her disappearance, she and her family were illegally arrested, detained and persecuted several times. She was last arrested in February 2009 and sentenced a year later. Ever since then, her family has lost contact with her.

More than seven practitioners, including Ms. Wu Yinfeng, were arrested and their homes were ransacked because they had been exposing the CCP's slander.

One month after the initial arrest, the county police department sent the above practitioners to forced labor camps. Ms. Wu was given two years of forced labor and imprisoned at Pingantai Forced Labor Camp.

Ms. Wu was arrested again by local authorities on May 11, 2004, and detained in the county domestic security division. It was there that she endured torture such as the tiger bench for 24 hours. Seventeen days later, she was sent for three years of forced labor in Gansu Women's Forced Labor Camp. Within half-a-year in the labor camp, she was tortured until her life was in dire danger and was sent to a forced labor camp hospital in Dashaping, Lanzhou City.

The officials from the labor camp claimed that Wu Yinfeng had congenital epilepsy. They used medical parole as the bait to extort 5,000 yuan from her husband "for medical expenses." It wasn't until January 4, 2005, that Ms. Wu was released. During the detention period, a policeman from the forced labor camp demanded another 2000 yuan for medical expenses from her family. Because the family ran out of money, he took their household registration book as collateral. To this date, the family hasn't been able to pay the amount demanded, thus the household registration book has not been returned yet.

More than 20 officers from the county, Domestic Security Division and local police station intruded into Wu Yinfeng's house in April, 2008. After a thorough beating and torture of her husband in the morning, they sent four police cars in the afternoon to ransack the house again.

The same occurrence repeated on February 20, 2009. More than 20 people from the same groups mentioned above climbed over the walls and intruded into her house. They handcuffed Ms. Wu and her husband (a non-practitioner), and took them to the Domestic Security Division. A policeman locked her on the tiger bench and called on several thugs to extract confessions by torture.

Ms. Wu's husband was detained for 18 days. After taking away every penny they could find from him, the police asked for an additional 50 yuan as the lump sum for daily expenses for staying at the detention center. As he was penniless, they detained him for one more day as punishment for not paying.

Ms. Wu's family started going to the detention center every month, wanting to visit her. Each time they were told that there was no such person imprisoned there. However, by word of mouth from someone who was released from the detention center, Ms. Wu was tortured until close to death and was secretly sent to the county hospital.

Her family was deprived of the right to know of her whereabouts for the entire year of 2009. It wasn't until January 27, 2010, right before the Chinese New Year, that her family finally received a notice from Gansu Women's Prison stating that Ms. Wu had been sentenced, without specifying the number of years.

The worried husband left his elderly dad and his young child, took a carton of apples--the only valuable item in their house, and went on a journey to find his wife. After countless efforts, he finally got the news from someone who was previously imprisoned that Wu Yinfeng had been sentenced to four years. When he went to the local police station, he was told that, due to personnel change, the new staff was not responsible for the cases that were handled by the predecessors.

The family traveled to Lanzhou City on February 19, 2010. Not knowing the exact address of the prison that issued the latest imprisonment notice for Wu Yinfeng, they went all the way to the Women's Compulsory Rehabilitation Center in Yuzhong County. When they finally arrived at Gansu Women's Prison in Jiuzhou, the prison was closed due to the Chinese New Year Holiday. All they could do was to walk around the walls hoping to get a peek at her. The family was concerned for their loved one's health after suffering one year of persecution and torture.
