(Clearwisdom.net) The 610 Office was named after the date of its formation on June 10, 1999. It is an extra-legal organization that specializes in persecuting Falun Gong practitioners, similar to the Gestapo in Nazi Germany. This office holds privileges in the persecution of Falun Gong and can mobilize all state resources. It has spent huge amounts of money for the expansion of prisons and forced labor camps, and for building brainwashing facilities. It has established a wide range of 610 Office branches in public security and judicial systems, in residential committees, and street enterprises. People of this organization coerce the public at large into participating in the persecution of Falun Gong. Agents of the 610 Office at different levels take part in and make decisions during the entire process of Falun Gong cases, from prosecuting, holding trials and auditing in court. They have the final say over the verdicts in these cases.

The recent sentence of Ms. Gao Lianzhen from Fuxin City is an example. Court officials sentenced Ms. Gao to three years of imprisonment, with a deferred execution period of five years, but agents of the Fuxin City 610 Office intervened and ordered the sentence to be carried out immediately.

Ms. Li Xiumin from Shijiazhuang City, Hebei Province was arrested in May 2007 for putting up Falun Gong materials. She was arrested and held at a detention center. She developed symptoms of a tumor, and her elderly mother did her utmost to have her released on bail to seek medical treatment. But officials of the 610 Office in Hebei Province signed a document rejecting her mother's request for medical parole and the document eventually reached the Xinhua District Court and the detention center. Ms. Li was sentenced to five years in prison and held at the ward for the elderly, weak, sick and disabled criminals at the Hebei Province Women's Prison.

Regarding the case of Mr. Song Aichang from Shijiazhuang City, a chief judge and deputy court head in charge of the re-trial of Mr. Song's case repeatedly stated that they made their judgment according to the evidence provided. They thus were implying that they would acquit him if there was no evidence. But they also told the lawyer and Mr. Song's family that their opinions may not count or be accepted. The lawyer also believed that it was definitely a verdict of acquittal. It turned out that people from the 610 Office manipulated the case and Mr. Song was given a three-year prison term.

Ms. Liang Yening, Ms. Zhou Ximeng, Ms. Zhang Linyu and her husband from Shijiazhuang City went to visit Liang Linhong on December 23, 2008. Four police officers suddenly stormed into the home, and arrested and took these four practitioners to a forced labor camp. To our knowledge, the voice monitoring system of Hebei Province Police Department had stored voices of these four practitioners. When they had spoken on a cell phone, Internet phone or public phone, as long as they used voice features, automatic recording equipment was triggered, and then the recording was analyzed. The practitioners were then followed, located and arrested.

The regime's agents rounded up thousands of Falun Gong practitioners nationwide under the disguise of protecting the security of the Beijing Olympics between June and July in 2008. The provincial police departments' domestic security divisions issued quotas. The city level police departments' domestic security divisions produced a blacklist, and then local police stations and police department branches finally arrested practitioners according to this blacklist.

The 610 Office in the judicial system is composed of education divisions in the provincial prison administration bureau, the provincial forced labor camp administration bureau, forced labor camps and prison education sections. They are in charge of "reforming" Falun Gong practitioners, and coercing and enticing common criminals to torture and "reform" practitioners. They incite criminals to implement brainwashing on practitioners, and reduce those criminals' terms who are active in the persecution of Falun Gong. Prior to the Olympics, all forced labor camps and prisons nationwide fanatically persecuted practitioners. Normal monthly visitations were not allowed, practitioners were isolated from the outside world, and many practitioners were tortured to disability or death.
