(Clearwisdom.net) Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Li Wenming, an employee of the Datong Locomotive Factory in Shanxi Province, was illegally detained in forced labor camps for three years and lost his job. Then Mr. Li was abruptly seized and taken away again on September 28, 2009. He was later sentenced to two years of forced labor at Xindian Forced Labor Camp in Taiyuan City.

Policemen from the Pingwang Township Police Station in Datong, Shanxi Province carried out the arrest. In addition to Mr. Li, they have also persecuted several other Falun Gong practitioners.

1. The Persecution of Li Wenming by the Pingwang Township Police Station in Datong City

Mr. Li was repeatedly persecuted for practicing Falun Gong. After three years of forced labor, Mr. Li returned home in November 2005. He was never allowed to go back to work, nor was he paid a salary. He later rented a place in Shizhuang Village of Pingwang Township in Datong.

On September 2, 2009, policemen from the Pingwang Township Police Station took Mr. Li away. Pingwang Township Police head Zhang Xiaohong, police officer Qu Zhifeng and others ransacked Mr. Li's home before taking him away. Mr. Li was interrogated for four hours at the police station. He was then taken to a detention center, but was not admitted.

The police also threatened Mr. Li's neighbors, warning them not to ask Mr. Li's family about his being seized. The policemen told his neighbors that if they contacted his family, they would be taken away as well. A few days later, they instructed Mr. Li's landlord to evict Mr. Li's wife, threatening the landlord with a fine if he did not comply.

2. The Persecution of Other Practitioners by the Pingwang Township Police Station

Since 1999, the Pingwang Township Police Station has persecuted practitioners Chen Lin, the Liu Xiuqing couple, Peng Jufen, Fan Guizhi, Li Cuilan, Piao Suzhen, and Li Wenming.

Chen Lin was seized in March 2001 and taken to the Pingwang Township Police Station in Datong. Chen Lin was sent to the First Detention Center of Datong City the next day. For four months, Chen Lin was beaten, cursed at, forced to stay out in cold weather, and robbed of personal property. Some practitioners were hung up with chains that weighed over 50 pounds. Thirty people were detained in a room that is less than twenty square feet.

Chen Lin and Meng Xianghua were sent to a forced labor camp in Taiyuan City on July 27, 2001. They had iron chains on their feet.

Practitioner Peng Jufen from Datong was seized on November 2, 2005 while distributing truth-clarification materials in the Datong School of Electrical Engineering. She was taken to Laopingwang Police Station and later detained at Chenzhuang Second Detention Center of Datong. After Peng Jufen disappeared, her family and friends searched all over Datong to find her. They only learned about her being arrested on November 5.

Practitioners Fan Guizhi and Liu Xiuqing from Xihuayuan were seized and taken to Pingwang Township Police Station on June 18, 2005 for talking to people about Falun Gong in Pingwang Township. Their homes were ransacked by officers from the Xihuayuan Police Station on June 21.

Li Cuilan is an employee of Datong First Electricity Company, Shanxi Province. She suffered from severe hyperplasia before she started practicing Falun Gong. She could not hold up her arm, and her legs felt heavy. When her illness became serious, she remained bedridden and had to use a catheter. Ms. Li benefited greatly both physically and spiritually after she started practicing Falun Gong in 1996. She experienced tremendous changes to her overall health. She was able to do light house work, and she was happy again. When the persecution of Falun Gong started in 1999, her husband destroyed her exercise tape under pressure applied by the Pingwang Township Police Station. Ms. Li never rose from her bed again. She was only 44 when she died less than a year later.
