(Clearwisdom.net) Today's News from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 16 cities or counties in 8 provinces. In this report, 11 Falun Dafa practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention, and 11 practitioners were illegally arrested.
1. [Daqing City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Gao Xiuli Detained
Ms. Gao Xiuli, whose home is in Daqing City, was clarifying the facts of the persecution of Falun Gong in public on April 1, 2010. She was reported to the police. Officers from the Longgang Public Security Bureau in Daqing arrested Ms. Gao and took her to the city detention center.
2. [Qiqihar City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Qi Bozhi Arrested
In the afternoon on April 3, 2010, officers from the Heping Police Station in Qiqihar broke into Ms. Qi Bozhi's home. They confiscated Ms. Qi's Falun Dafa book and digital media, and arrested her.
3. [Shanghai City] Ms. Zhao Genmei Arrested
Police officers from the Domestic Security Division of the Jinshan District Public Security Bureau in Shanghai arrested Ms. Zhao Genmei on March 30, 2010. Ms. Zhao is currently imprisoned in the Jinshan Detention Center.
4. [Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province] Mr. Zhao Hongxing Arrested
Mr. Zhao Hongxing was arrested a month ago.
5. [Guan County, Shandong Province] Ms. Xu Jimei and Her Son Arrested
On March 25, 2010, officers from the Guan County Public Security Bureau broke into Ms. Xu Jimei's house and confiscated her personal belongings. They took Ms. Xu to the Guan County Detention Center to torture her.
The next day, March 26, the officers arrested Ms. Xu's son, Mr. Zhou Chunbao. His whereabouts are still unknown.
6. [Hengshui City, Hebei Province] Ms. Hu Guangshui Arrested
On March 25, 2010, Yang Shushan and a dozen other officers from the Hengshui City Domestic Security Division broke into Ms. Hu Guangshui's home in Pengdu Township of the Taocheng District. They confiscated personal property and cash and arrested her. Ms. Hu is imprisoned in the Hengshui City Detention Center.

7. [Gaotang County, Shandong Province] Ms. Wei Shanzhen Arrested
In the afternoon on April 2, 2010, someone reported Ms. Wei Shanzhen to the police because she was talking to people about Falun Dafa. Yin Guoliang led officers from the Gaotang City Domestic Security Division and from the Renhe Police Station to arrest Ms. Wei.

8. [Shandong Province] Ms. Chen Zhenbo in Forced Labor Camp
Ms. Chen Zhenbo is illegally imprisoned in the Second Women's Forced Labor Camp in Shandong Province. She was beaten until she could not walk or straighten her back. The guards often starved Ms. Chen and isolated her from others.

9. [Tushan County, Jiangsu Province] Ms. Zhao Rongcai Held in Zhanglou Detention Center
On March 31, 2010, officers from the Zancheng Police Station arrested Ms. Zhao Rongcai, who lives in Tushan County, Pizhou City, in Jiangsu Province, while she was out clarifying the facts of the persecution. Ms. Zhao is imprisoned in the Zhanglou Detention Center.
Ms. Zhao's husband is also a practitioner. He was sentenced to four years in prison in 2008 for his beliefs. Their five-year-old child was left alone at home with no one to care for him.

10. [Chicheng County, Hebei Province] Mr. Chu Zhengyin Unlawfully Imprisoned
Mr. Chu Zhengyin lives in Dongmao Town, Chicheng County. On March 20, 2010, the police arrested Mr. Chu and took him to the Fengtai District Detention Center in Beijing.
11. [Hancheng City, Shaanxi Province] More Details on Ms. Wang Shangqin and Ms. Yu Shuying
Ms. Wang Shangqin, 70, and Ms. Yu Shuying, 48, worked at the Xiangshan Mine of the Hancheng City Bureau of Mines. On the evening of April 1, 2010, the police arrested them and locked them up in the Hancheng City Public Security Bureau. The officers attempted to extort confessions from the two practitioners and deprived them of sleep.

12. [Kaijiang County, Sichuan Province] Four Falun Gong Practitioners Arrested and Tortured
On April 2, 2010, four practitioners who live in Kaijiang County were arrested. Ms. Wu Licui, 55, Ms. Liu Mingying, 59, and Ms. Wang Lanying, 59, were taken to the Jianyang Women's Prison and Mr. Li Bending, 65, was taken to the Deyang Prison in Sichuan Province.
13. [Genhe City, Inner Mongolia] Ms. Fan Guizhi Sentenced to One Year in Labor Camp
Ms. Fan Guizhi, who lives in Derbulin Town, was sentenced to a year in a forced labor camp.

14. [Peng'an County, Sichuan Province] Ms. Zhang Lifang Arrested
On April 1, 2010, Ms. Zhang Lifang was arrested when she went out to distribute Falun Dafa fliers.
15. [Huichun City, Jilin Province] Mr. Chen Guanghui Still Being Tortured
Police officers from the Huichun City Third Police Station tortured Mr. Chen Guanghui in an attempt to extort a confession from him. Mr. Chen was forced to sit on a Tiger Bench for five days straight. He was taken to a hospital once after being severely injured from the torture. He is currently held in a detention cell.

16. [Weifang City, Shandong Province] Persecution of a Couple Who Practice Falun Dafa
On the morning on October 27, 2008, Mr. Gao Yugang and his wife Ms. Liu Fufang were studying at home. A group of police officers broke into their house and searched their property. The police arrested them and took them to the Weicheng Public Security Bureau. They confiscated their computer, two printers, a paper trimmer and more, worth a total of about 23,000 yuan.
Ms. Liu was detained for 15 days and made to pay 9,000 yuan. Mr. Gao was detained for a month before he was taken to the Zhangqiu Forced Labor Camp. The camp refused to take him due to his poor health. The police further extorted 1,900 yuan from his family before releasing Mr. Gao.
