(Clearwisdom.net) Today's News from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 16 cities or counties in 12 provinces. In this report, 17 Falun Gong practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention, and at least nine practitioners were illegally arrested.

1. [Weifang City, Shandong Province] Ms. Qi Guiyu Grossly Abused and Mistreated
Ms. Qi Guiyu from Baojiaying Village was arrested on the morning of March 24, 2010. Xiashan District Police Department officers, along with those from the Taibaozhuang Street Office and officers from a local police station made the arrest. An officer grasped Ms. Qi and tore her cotton-padded clothes. Other officers ransacked her home and confiscated three copies of Falun Gong books, an MP3 player, and other personal property. They took Ms. Qi to the local police station and then to the Xiashan District Criminal Police Division, where she remained from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. She was also forced to take a blood test. Ms. Qi was then taken to the Weifang Detention Center, Custody Center and other places where they forced her to take unknown drugs, and be subjected to a physical examination. This abuse and mistreatment caused serious physical injuries to Ms. Qi. They eventually sent Ms. Qi home because she developed symptoms of serious illness.
The police broke into Ms. Qi's home to search one more time while she was held in police custody. They took a TV set and other items. About 2,000 yuan was gone, too.
The police also went to harass Ms. Zhang Xiuxiang at home in Xishu Village that same morning, but Ms. Zhang was not home.
2. [Zhejiang Province] Additional Information Regarding the Circumstances of Mr. Li Xinping and His Wife Ms. Chen Lingjuan
Mr. Li Xinping and his wife Ms. Chen Lingjuan were sentenced to imprisonment on March 1, 2010, and sent to the Hangzhou Men's Prison and Women's Prison, respectively, on March 18, 2010.
3. [Linqing, Shandong Province] Mr. Li Qiwen Harassed
Domestic Security Division officer Ding Tinghua and others broke into Mr. Li Qiwen's home on the afternoon of March 25, 2010, under the guise of wanting to visit his wife Ms. Zhang Aihua. They ended up taking their computer.

Mr. Chen Jianhua from Guangzhou went missing on March 25, 2010. He went to work as usual that same day at the Guangzhou Maritime Bureau, but no further information about him has been received. It is suspected that Haizhu District Domestic Security Division officers took him into custody.
Mr. Chen's wife Ms. Deng Fangchen is still being held at the Guangzhou City Brainwashing Center.
6. [Yuncheng, Shanxi Province] Ms. Wen Shuhua Arrested
Ms. Wen Shuhua from Yuncheng was covertly arrested around March 16, 2010. She is now at the Pinglu County Detention Center. Her home was ransacked.
Yuncheng 610 Office agents previously arrested her on December 11, 1999, and held her in custody for over twenty days. She was given an eight-year prison term in 2000.
7. [Wuhan, Hubei Province] Ms. Wang Yujie and Mr. Ma Yuanxin Incarcerated at a Brainwashing Facility
Ms. Wang Yujie and Mr. Ma Yuanxin from Wuhan City were held at the No. 1 Administrative Detention Center in the Dongxihu District for 15 days. They were supposed to be released on March 27, 2010. Manchun Street Police Station officers covertly sent them to the Erdaopeng Brainwashing Center on the afternoon of March 26. Ms. Wang's mother went to petition for her daughter's release. She left home several days ago, but her whereabouts are unknown.
8. [Luoding City, Guangdong Province] Ms. Li Hongying Arrested
Ms. Li Hongying was arrested on her way home from work at 4:30 a.m. on March 27, 2010.
9. [Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province] Mr. Huang Guang Held at the Changlinzi Forced Labor Camp
Mr. Huang Guang from Harbin City was subjected to one and a half years of forced labor on March 26, 2010. He is now at the Changlinzi Forced Labor Camp.
10. [Guiyang, Guizhou Province] Ms. Du Xiuqin Arrested
Ms. Du Xiuqin, 70, from Guiyang City, went to visit her relatives in Qijiang County, Chongqing. She took a train home from Qijiang County on the morning of March 26, 2010, but was reported to police as she spoke with passengers on the train about Falun Gong. Guiyang Railway Station Police Station officers arrested her.
11. [Kunming, Yunnan Province] Ms. Luo Yun Arrested
Ms. Luo Yun, 39, from Kunming City, was arrested in September 2009, as she distributed Falun Gong brochures. Daguan Police Station officers, along with officers from the Domestic Security Division made the arrest. She is now at the Dabanqiao Women's Forced Labor Camp.
12. [Chongqing] Ms. Chen Changlan Arrested
Ms. Chen Changlan, in her fifties, from Caijia Town in the Jiangjin District, left home together with Ms. Gong Helian on March 4, 2010. No further information about them has been received.
Officers from Jiangjin Police Department brought many photos of local practitioners who had been previously arrested and detained to Ms. Chen's home on March 8 and ordered her non-practitioner husband to identify the practitioners. He saw the photos of Ms. Chen and Ms. Gong. The police told him to deliver clothing for his wife at the Langshan Detention Center where the two practitioners are held.

13. [Weifang, Shandong Province] Ms. Sun Yufen Arrested
Ms. Sun Yufen lives in Gaoli Village, Gaoli Town in the Hanting District. Officers from the Gaoli Police Station arrested her at 8:00 a.m. on March 24, 2010.
14. [Fengning, Hebei Province] Ms. Wang Guozhen Held at a Detention Center
Ms. Wang Guozhen, 58, from Fengning County, was reading a book at home on the morning of September 30, 2009, when 610 Office agents arrested her and took her to the Tucheng Detention Center, where she is currently detained.

Ms. Wang Chunying was arrested at noon on March 9, 2010. She is to be held at the Masanjia Women's Forced Labor Camp.
16. [Zibo, Shandong Province] Mr. Hou Jiyun and Others Subjected to Forced Labor
Mr. Hou Jiyun was subjected to one year of forced labor at the Wangcun Forced Labor Camp. The police confiscated 1,800 yuan in cash and a bank deposit book from his home. Mr. Fang Shikun and Ms. Chen Shouhua were sentenced to one and a half years of forced labor. They are now at the Wangzhang No. 2 Forced Labor Camp and the Wangcun Forced Labor Camp, respectively.
17. [Wuhan, Hubei Province] Mr. Wang Yu Incarcerated at a Brainwashing Facility
Mr. Wang Yu, 18, was subjected to one year of forced labor on March 5, 2009, for distributing DVDs of a Shen Yun performance. He was supposed to be released on March 5, 2010, but Wuhan 610 Office agents instructed the Erdaopeng Brainwashing Center officials to take Mr. Wang to the center directly from the Hewan Forced Labor Camp.
18. [Daqing, Heilongjiang Province] Additional Information and Correction Regarding the Arrest of Mr. Xu Bin
Mr. Xu Bin is an employee of the Chemical Factory, No. 1 Drilling Co., Inc. Feng Haibo and others from the Daqing Police Department's Domestic Security Division arrested him and another person, a non-practitioner working as a loader, at 9:00 a.m. on March 14, 2010, outside their workplace. That group of persecutors also ransacked Mr. Xu's home and took his computer, cell phone, a book, and other personal property. Mr. Xu is now being held at the Daqing City No. 3 Detention Center. The person working as a loader was released after being interrogated for three hours.

Officers from Yizhou Town Police Station subjected Ms. Guo Guixiang and her son to a suspicious blood drawing on February 2, 2010. A white van drove to the lane where Ms. Guo lives at around 1:00 p.m. on March 24, 2010. Three police officers got out of the van and walked toward Ms. Guo's home. The driver also got out of the van and caught up with the three police officers.
A white car stopped at 9:00 a.m. on March 25, 2010 at the entrance to the lane where Ms. Guo lives. The driver was the only person in the car, observing Ms. Guo's home. The car left about an hour later.
