Greetings from the Minister of Citizenship, Immigration and Multiculturalism
I would like to extend my warmest greetings to all those participating in the month-long celebrations of the 18th anniversary of the introduction of Falun Dafa to the public. On behalf of Prime Minister Stephen Harper, I would like to thank the Falun Dafa Association of Canada for your steadfast commitment to building the Canada we all love - a strong, united and pluralistic society.
Falun Gong practitioners in Canada have been keen participants in their communities and have made positive contributions to them. The principles of truthfulness, compassion and forbearance, which are at the core of Falun Dafa, are important ingredients in the promotion of understanding and friendship among all members of our diverse society, which greatly contributes to the advancement of Canadian multiculturalism.
I am proud to live in a country that embraces diversity and champions the values of democracy, freedom, human rights and the rule of law. As Prime Minister Stephen Harper stated: "As Canadians we can be proud to live in a society where we can celebrate our tremendous diversity while, at the same time, always taking pride in our country's unique heritage."
As Minister of Citizenship, Immigration and Multiculturalism, I would like to thank you for your continued efforts and convey my very best wishes for a great celebration.
