(Clearwisdom.net) Today's News from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 12 cities or counties in 8 provinces. In this report, 7 practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention and at least 5 practitioners were illegally arrested.
1. [Panzhihua City, Sichuan Province] Mr. Wu Mingshan in Critical Condition
Mr. Wu Mingshan from Panzhihua City was abused during his imprisonment in Wumaping Prison, Leshan City, Sichuan Province. He is now in critical condition and has been transferred to a prison section for sick prisoners.

2. [Linkou County, Heilongjiang Province] Mr. Liu Shaohua Sentenced to Two Years of Forced Labor
Recently, Mr. Liu Shaohua, an employee of the Fangzheng Forestry Bureau, Heilongjiang Province, was sentenced to two years of forced labor by the National Security Group of the police department of Linkou County and local 610 Office. On March 3, 2010 Mr. Liu was arrested by the Sandaotong Town Police Station and the National Security Group of Linkou County when he was visiting his friend, Mr. Liu Xiaosuo, in Sandaotong Town. He has been held in detention ever since.
3.[Shanghai] Ms. Li Guifang Sentenced to Three Years of Imprisonment
Ms. Li Gui Fang from the District in Shanghai was arrested in May 2009 and has been detained ever since. Authorities extended her term and recently sentenced her to three years of imprisonment.
4. [Xiuwen County, Guizhou Province] Mr. Luo Jinhua Arrested
In the afternoon on April 11, 201,0 Mr. Luo Jinhua from Xiuwen County was reported to police and arrested when he was distributing truth clarification materials in a farmers' market. Police ransacked his home and confiscated his Falun Gong books and Falun Gong informational materials. He is now being held in the Dashandong Police Station of Baiyun District.
5. [Shanxi Province] Ms. Lin Shumin Held in Labor Camp; His Term May Be Extended
Ms. Lin Shumin, 50 years old, is from Beijing. On April 25, 2008, she was arrested when she was home and sentenced to two years of forced labor. She was held in the Women's Forced Labor Camp of Taiyuan City, Shanxi Province. Her term should have ended on April 25, 2010.
Ten days before that, however, the labor camp informed her family that, due to her refusal to give up her practice of Falun Gong, her term is to be extended.

6. [Wuhan City, Hubei Province] Mr. Wang Sheng Arrested and Held in Qingling Police Station
7. [Jingmen City, Hubei Province] Ms. Ren Xiaoyu Mistreated
Ms. Ren Xiaoyu is about 50 years old. Four yeas ago Jia Zhenjun, a police officer from the Politics and Security Section of the government of the Dongbao District, Jingmen City, arrested her and took her to a brainwashing center based in the Hotel of the Electric Power Administration of Jingmen City. Jia pressured her to give up Falun Gong by abusing her in various ways, including pinching her neck and slapping her face. She was also ordered to reveal information about other Falun Gong practitioners. When Ms. Ren refused to cooperate, Jia collected evidence against her and sued her in the procuratorate of the Dongbao District. After four years of detention Ms. Ren was sentenced to three years of imprisonment with a suspension of four years. Recently, the Dongbao District court called her family to get them to try to force her to write statements renouncing Falun Gong.

8. [Jingyu County, Jilin Province] Ms. Wang Shuying Arrested
On April 18, 2010, when Ms. Wang Shuying was doing the Falun Gong exercises at home, she was arrested by two officers from Henan Police Station. They had happened to at her home to harass her. They took her MP3 player, which she used to play the music for Falun Gong exercises, and arrested her the next day.

9.[Shaoguan City, Guangdong Province] Mr. Qu Jinyu Arrested
Recently, Mr. Qu Jinyu, a retired employee from the Steel Corporation of Shaoguan City, was arrested.
10. [Jinan City, Shandong Province] Ms. Zhu Lixin Deprived Right of Visitation
In February and March of 2010, the family of Ms. Zhu Lixin from Laixi City, Shandong Province, went to the First Women's Labor Camp several times to see her several times. Guards of the 3rd group of the labor camp and officers from the management section refused to allow any visits. They said that Ms. Zhu refused to be brainwashed or give up her practice of Falun Gong.
11. [Wafangdian City, Liaoning Province] Mr. Hong Zhenyan Arrested and Detained in Dalian City Prison
Late in 2009, Ms. Hong Zhenyan was sentenced to three years imprisonment by the court of Wafangdian City and was taken to Dalian City Prison in January 2010.

12. [Fushun City, Liaoning Province] Mr. Kong Fanxiao Secretly Sentenced
Recently, Mr. Kong Fanxiao from Fushun City was brought to trial secretly and sentenced to four years imprisonment. He has appealed his case.
