(Clearwisdom.net) While Ms. Jiao Lili was visiting a relative during the Chinese New Year holiday on February 24, 2010, officers from the Police Department of Lanzhou City stormed into the house. They handcuffed her relative's hands behind her back and interrogated her. They ransacked her home and frightened her child. Ms. Jiao Lili was hiding in another room. The police found her and arrested her. They took her to the police department and tortured her.

At around 11 p.m. that night, Jiao Lili was taken to a clinic for a physical examination, but she refused to cooperate. Three policewomen pulled her into a restroom, and proceeded to punch and kick her. They then sent her to the First Detention Center of Lanzhou City.

Two days later, four policemen from the National Security Group of Kongtong District Police Station, including Ma Yi and Ge Huiming, took Jiao Lili to Pingliang City. They took away her personal music player and papers, and took turns to interrogate her.

On February 28, Jiao Lili was sent to the Kongtong Detention Center of Pingliang City. Once there, the guards slapped her about the head, bound her with handcuffs and shackles, and kept her on a tiger bench for 4 hours.

During the 36 days of detention, guards subjected her to constant verbal abuse, and she started a hunger strike in protest.

Ms. Jiao was later sentenced to one and a half years in a forced labor camp. When she was examined before being transferred to Yuzhong Forced Labor Camp, she was found to have suffered from high blood pressure and myocardial ischemia. She was rejected by the detention center, and her family was told to collect her.

In 2000, Jiao Lili was sent to a forced labor camp.

In 2003, she was sentenced to 5 years in the Lanzhou City Women's Prison. In the prison, she was forced to perform hard labor and struck by electric batons until she passed out.
