(Clearwisdom.net) Today's News from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 17 cities and counties in ten provinces. Nine practitioners were subjected to brutal mistreatment during their detention and at least 29 practitioners were illegally arrested.
1. [Wuhan City, Hubei Province] Ms. Xiao Guizhi Passes Away as a Result of Persecution
Ms. Xiao Guizhi lived at Yongqing Street, Jiangan District, Wuhan City. In 2001, she was arrested by officers from the 610 Office of Wuhan Port Administration Bureau because she distributed Falun Gong materials. She was detained for fifteen days, and was released after being fined 2000 yuan.
In summer 2002, Ms. Xiao Guizhi was arrested by officers from the Siweijie Police Station in Jiangan District while she was distributing Falun Gong materials. She was sent to the Wuhan First Shelter and was then transferred to the Chenjiaji Brainwashing Center. In the brainwashing center, the guards did not allow her to eat or use the bathroom. She was severely mistreated both mentally and physically, which caused her diabetes to relapse. Her health deteriorated and she was almost blind in both eyes. She passed away at the age of 50 in 2006 as a result of persecution.

3. [Zibo City, Shandong Province] Ms. Chen Wentian Sent to the Wangcun Forced Labor Camp
Ms. Chen Wentian lives in Maling Village, Zihe Town, Zichuan District, Zibo City. At 4:00 p.m. on March 8, 2010, Ms. Chen Wentian was taken away from his home by police from Zichuan District and the local police. The police took away her Dafa books and Falun Gong materials. She was later sentenced to 18 months of forced labor, and was sent to the Wangcun Forced Labor Camp.
4. [Huangshan City, Anhui Province] Additional Information about the Arrest of Ms. Zhang Rui
Ms. Zhang Rui and her family live in She County. On February 5, 2010, Ms. Zhang Rui, her husband, and their two children went to her husband's hometown in Hebei Province for Chinese New Year. On February 7, 2010, approximately eight officers from the She County Domestic Security Team broke into her home and ransacked it without the presence of any family member.
Police broke into Ms. Zhang's home again and arrested her at 10:00 p.m. on February 28, 2010. Ms. Zhang has since been detained in the She County Detention Center.

5. [Xinxiang City, Henan Province] Ms. Zhu Ying Detained in the Xinxiang Detention Center
Ms. Zhu Ying was arrested near the Xinxiang City Athletics Center by officers from the Dongdajie Police Station of the Hongqi Police Department in Xinxiang City, at 1:00 p.m. on April 10, 2010. She is currently being detained in the Xinxiang Detention Center.

6. [Gongyi City, Henan Province] Mr. Zheng Xinping and Ms. Wu Xiang Arrested
In April 2010, Mr. Zheng Xinping and Ms. Wu Xiang from Xiaoguan Town, Gongyi City were arrested and taken to the Gongyi Detention Center by officers from the Xiaoguan Town Police Station, the Gongyi 610 Office, and the Gongyi Domestic Security Bureau.
7. [Wuhan City, Hubei Province] Ms. Wang Dongping Arrested at the Zhongshan Park on the Afternoon of April 23, 2010

Mr. Ye Fu is retired from the Xinzhou District First High School in Wuhan City. On February 4, 2010, Xia Xiaohua, leading officers from the Xinzhou District Police Department, broke into Mr. Ye Fu's home and took away about 40 copies of Falun Dafa books. At 8:00 a.m. on April 23, 2010, the police broke into Mr. Ye's home again and took him to the Liuji Brainwashing Center in Xinzhou District.
On April 23, 2010, Mr. Zhang Chenyao from Fangyang, Xinzhou District was taken to the Cangbu Police Station.

9. [Changtu County, Liaoning Province] Ms. Liu Weijing Arrested in Faku County
Ms. Liu Weijing from Changlingzi Township, Changtu County was reported to police at 11:00 a.m on April 25, 2010, while she was talking to people about Falun Gong in Baijiagou, Faku County. She was arrested by officers from the Baijiagou Town Police Station.
10. [Changle County, Shandong Province] Mr. Tian Huaibao Persecuted by the Changle 610 Office
In early March 2010, Mr. Tian Huaibao, from Atuo Village, Yingqiu Town, Changle County, was arrested by officers from the Changle 610 Office and the Atuo Police Station. The police extorted money from him and then released him.
Officers from the Changle 610 Office and the Atuo Police Station arrested Mr. Tian Huaibao again on April 9, 2010. He was sent to a forced labor camp on April 10, 2010.
11. [Jilin City, Jilin Province] Ms. Tan Qiucheng Detained in a Small Cell in Jilin Prison
On the afternoon of April 25, 2010, Ms. Tan Qiucheng, from Yushu Village, Erdao Township, Jilin City, was persecuted in a small cell by Li Chunbiao from the Prison Administration Section of Jilin Prison.

Ms. Lao Hu, a Falun Gong practitioner in her sixties, was arrested by officers from the Domestic Security Team of Liquan Police Department on April 25, 2010.

13. [Shenyang City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Chen Xi and Ms. Xu Jie Arrested by Officers from the Wenyilu Police Station and the Domestic Security Team--Their Homes Ransacked
14. [Jilin Province] Ms. Wang Shimin and Other Practitioners Persecuted in Siping Prison
On April 7, 2010, the Siping Prison ordered Falun Gong practitioners in the No. 10 Division and other prisoners who watched the practitioners to sign a liability agreement for production safety. The purpose was to avoid responsibility for production safety accidents.
Ms. Wang Shimin from Jilin City, Mr. Liu Dapeng from Songyuan City, and Mr. Jia Jing from Changling refused to sign the agreement. Guard Wu Tie subsequently shocked them with an electric baton, which created many blisters on their bodies. Ms. Wang Shimin was sent to a confinement room on April 8, 2010, and has since been detained there.
15. [Zibo City, Shandong Province] Mr. Huang Futang Persecuted in Guanzhuang Second Men's Forced Labor Camp in Zhangqiu City, Shandong Province
Mr. Huang Futang, 59, was taken away from his home by the Zibo police in June 2009. He is currently being detained in the Guanzhuang Second Men's Forced Labor Camp. In the camp, he was interrogated by torture. There are clear scars on the top of his head and his hands. He can't work due to severe waist pain.
16. [Zhoukou City, Henan Province] Mr. Shi Hongyu and Ms. Liu Xiurong Arrested
Mr. Shi Hongyu works in the Zhoukou Electricity Bureau. On April 21, 2010, he and his wife Ms. Li Xiurong were arrested by officers from the Shanan Police Department in Chuanhui District, Zhoukou City, and their home was ransacked. Their whereabouts are currently unknown.
17. [Zibo City, Shandong Province] Ms. Gou Yurong from Zhangdian District Arrested
18. [Dalian City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Zhu Yongxiang Arrested by Officers from the Dagushan Police Station.
Ms. Zhu Yongxiang from Xiaogushanzhongli, Dalian Developing District was reported to the police while she was talking to people about Falun Gong in Luzhoubandao on April 25, 2010. She was arrested by officers from the Dagushan Police Station and her home was ransacked. She is currently being detained in the Yaojia Detention Center.
19. [Chaoyang City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Jia Guiqin and Her Husband Detained in Wujiawa Detention Center
On the afternoon of April 24, 2010, officers from the city police department and the Qianjin branch broke into Ms. Jia Guiqin's home, which is located near the Central Plaza. Ms. Jia and her husband were arrested, and their computer, Dafa books, about 70,000 yuan in cash, and other personal property was confiscated. Ms. Jia and her husband are being detained at the Wujiawa Detention Center.

20. [Anshan City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Chen Shang Persecuted in a Small Cell for a Long Period of Time
Ms. Chen Shang has been detained in a small cell in the Dabei Women's Prison of Liaoning Province for more than a year. Zhou Xiaoyan and other prisoners tortured her and did not allow her to use the bathroom for more than 50 hours. She had to relieve herself in her pants. She is now numb on one side of her body. Her husband Gao Mingxing was tortured to the point of paralysis by personnel at the Panjin Prison because he assisted in broadcasting videos about Falun Gong.

21. [Mianyang City, Sichuan Province] Mr. Deng Chengkai Sentenced to Eight Years in Prison
On June 22, 2009, officers from the Mianyang 610 Office and the Mianyang Police Department arrested Ms. Xiao Shifeng and Mr. Zhong Kai from Mianyang, and Mr. Deng Chengkai from Santai. Ms. Xiao and Mr. Zhong have since been released. Mr. Deng was sentenced to eight years in prison.
22. [Dalian City, Liaoning Province] Additional Information and Correction about Arrest of Ms. Wu Shuqin and Ms. Zhang Yuhua
Ms. Wu Shuqin and Ms. Zhang Yuhua from Jinzhou District were arrested by officers from the Yongzheng Police Station in Jinzhou District on April 23, 2010, while they were talking to people about Falun Gong. Ms. Wu was sent to the Yaojia Detention Center in Dalian City that night. Ms. Zhang was sent to the Jinnanlu Drug Rehabilitation Center.

23. [Ziyang City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Liu Shufen Arrested
Ms. Liu Shufen lives in Yanjiang District, Ziyang City. At about 5:00 p.m. on April 26, 2010, she was arrested while on her way home by three plainclothes policemen. She is currently being detained at the Chengxi Police Station.
24. [Jiujiang City, Jiangxi Province] Mr. Jing Donglin Arrested
Mr. Jing Donglin was arrested near the Jiujiang TV Station at 9:00 a.m. on April 26, 2010. Officers from the Lushan District Police Department ransacked Mr. Jing's home that afternoon.
25. [Shenyang City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Song Zhihua and Her Daughter Ms. Guo Baihong Arrested
Ms. Song Zhihua and her daughter Ms. Guo Baihong live in Nanhong Village, Hongling Town, Sujiatun District, Shenyang City. They were arrested in March 2010. Ms. Guo Baihong has been released, but Ms. Song's whereabouts are unknown.
26. [Xingye County, Guangxi Province] Ms. Li Yulin Arrested
Ms. Li Yulin, about 15 years old, lives in Dalingjiao Village, Chenghuang Town, Xingye County, and studies at the Yulin Technical School in Guangxi Province. On April 23, 2010, police took her to the Chenghuang Town Hall. A week earlier, a policeman grabbed her cell phone and found that Falun Gong materials were stored in the cell phone.
27. [Jiansanjiang, Heilongjiang Province] Mr. Shi Mengcang Sent to the Wuchang Brainwashing Center
About a dozen policemen broke into the home of Mr. Shi Mengcang at 7:00 p.m. on April 19, 2010, and arrested him and his wife Ms. Han Shujuan. Ms. Han was released that night. On the afternoon of April 21, 2010, Mr. Shi was sent to the Wuchang Brainwashing Center in Heilongjiang Province.
