(Clearwisdom.net) Ms. Zhang Xiaomei and Mr. Bai Sanyuan are elementary school teachers in the No. 2 elementary school in Jingyuan, Gansu Province. Because they refused to give up practicing Falun Gong, Ms. Zhang was taken to the Gongjiawan Brainwashing Center. She was sentenced to a one year and eight months prison term. Bai Sanyuan was also arrested, and his current whereabouts are unknown.
At 7 p.m. on May 16, 2010, local police came to the village where Bai Sanyuan lived and ransacked their home. At around midnight, policemen Pan Qianrui and Cui Liancai took away Bai Sanyuan. His current whereabouts are unknown.
Bai Sanyuan was detained three times for practicing Falun Gong. He was disabled because of the persecution he suffered. He is not able to walk, but through the practice of Falun Gong, his health has otherwise recovered.
Zhang Xiaomei is 47 years old and lives in the family residential area of the Pinchuan District, Baiyin City. In 2009, Zhang Xiaomei went to Huangqiao to distribute truth-clarification materials. She was arrested by Chen Jinpeng and Xing Feng from the Huangqiao Police Station and taken to a detention center for persecution. On the 10th day after she was arrested, she was sent to the Yuzhong Labor Camp. During the physical examination she was diagnosed as having severe illnesses and the labor camp refused to accept her. Zhang Xiaomei was then taken back to the detention center. Liu Junrui from the Domestic Security Division of the Pingchuan District Police Department, together with Wu Xiongying, Jin Jianquan and Liu Dongmei, from the Legislative Affairs Department, secretly and forcefully took Zhang Xiaomei to the Gongjiawan Brainwashing Center for persecution. It has been more than 8 months since then, and Zhang Xiaomei has now been sentenced to a one year and eight month prison term.
In 2008, Zhang Xiaomei was reported to the police by the parents of her students because she clarified the truth to students at school. She was not allowed to teach anymore and was transferred from her original workplace (No. 2 Elementary School) in the Jingyuan Coal Company, to work for the Xinhua Bookstore. Later, her school cooperated with the Pingchuan Police Department. They did not allow Zhang Xiaomei to go to work again and stopped paying her. Zhang Xiaomei never gave up her belief in "Truth-Compassion-Tolerance", and eventually she was forced to retire.
