I told him how to secure a good future by quitting the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) and its affiliated organizations, and about the persecution of Falun Gong. He said nothing at first, and just smiled while listening. Later he said, "I know everything you have told me. Do you know that I worked in a 610 Office five years ago?" After hearing this, I peacefully replied, "Since you know the truth, just quit the CCP." He said, "Okay, I will." Then he continued shopping at the market, and I continued to tell people there about Falun Gong and the persecution. As I was talking to another person, that man returned and smiled at me before he left.
Another time I met a plainclothes policeman. He showed me his police ID and said, "I am the director of a local police station. If I call the police station, a squad car will come. My police station is just over there." I smiled and said, "You look very nice. You do not seem like that kind of person."
The director also smiled and then joked, "Since you know which police station I am from, you may come to visit with me. But if you are arrested, don't ask me for help." I still tried to explain the facts about the persecution to him. He said, "I know everything about what you said. I understand it clearly. You may go now."
One day after I persuaded a person to quit the CCP, I saw someone in a crowd of people across the street who stood out. He looked like a government official. I suddenly had a thought to clarify the truth to him, and I rode my bicycle towards him. He looked very uncomfortable and asked me, "Why did you come straight to me?" I smiled and answered, "This is a predestined relationship." Then I started telling him about the great benefits of quitting the CCP. He said, "I am a local policeman. I am on patrol. Quit? No way. I cannot afford to lose my job. I have a family, including a child!" I said, "Don't be afraid. I will not ask your name. It counts as long as you give me your assent." He said immediately, "All right, I quit!"
