"It's given us an appreciation of the ... just the talents and so forth. They are so diverse with their talents."

Shen Yun includes classical Chinese dance which has its own complete set of training methods in foundational skills, a strict regimen for perfecting bearing and form, and means of training for skill sets such as jumps, turns, and flips, as well as extremely demanding aerial techniques, culminating in an enormous dance system.

"The choreography is excellent, it's first class, and my wife is taken by all the costumes, they are magnificent, great dancers, they are so agile." said Dr. Dillon.

Touched by the performances, he said, "I would recommend it to all people, particularly here in our country to get to know and understand, and appreciate just what wonderful culture Chinese culture is."

When Hoeroa Robert Mani, from New Zealand, heard the otherworldly notes coming from the ancient Chinese two-stringed instrument, the erhu, he was entranced.

Ms. Alexandra and Hoeroa Robert Mani after the show on Wednesday evening.

"I thought that was absolutely beautiful," he said.

Mr. Mani, whose name in Maori means "special way," was at Brisbane's renowned Lyric Theatre at the Queensland Performing Arts Centre [QPAC], to see the New York-based Shen Yun Performing Arts present a window into the world of ancient China's divinely-inspired heritage, performed through classical Chinese dance, music and song.

"Everything was spectacular. The women were beautiful as always. Together the dancing of the women and the men was spectacular. But for me tonight, the highlight was the Chinese erhu ... I really enjoyed it."

"They were simply impressive," said Mr. Mani, whose father was a student of calligraphy. Being the son of a calligraphist, he has for many years been an admirer of Chinese art and culture.

One of the Shen Yun trademarks is portraying a repertory of story-based dances adapted from China's heroic legends, folkloric traditions, and modern stories that expose the desecration of today's society since the inception in 1950 of communist rule in China.

Falun Gong, the ancient spiritual system oppressed in today's China today 1999, is depicted in two dances, "Nothing Can Block the Divine Path" and "Astounding Conviction."

Mr. Mani said that he gained an appreciation for China's ancient history and he also understood and appreciated the issues facing Falun Gong.

Mr. Mani said he would be recommending the show to his friends and would describe Shen Yun as "spectacular!"

Wishart Councillor: "Absolutely spectacular!"

Ms. Krista Adams, councillor for the Brisbane City Council, Wishart Ward, was also among the highly enthusiastic audience enjoying Shen Yun's final 2010 performance in Australia, which met with resounding applause.

"I would have to say it's absolutely spectacular, I did classical ballet myself when I was younger and I am just amazed at the actual athleticism and precision of their dancing, it's beautiful," the public official said.

Councillor for the Brisbane City Council, Wishart Ward, Krista Adams.

"Love the flowing silk costume, I loved the jewelry, and for such a large chorus dance group, the precision is amazing," said Ms. Adams, referring to two dances, "Flowing Silk" and "In a Miao Village."

According to the website, Shen Yun is notably the only company to have strictly authentic classical Chinese dance as part of its repertoire. However, this is not the only thing that makes Shen Yun unique. Through incorporation of modern technology, Shen Yun breaks new ground in the area of performing arts and as a result produces a stunning visual performance for the audience.

Audience members worldwide have been profoundly moved by the music, the solo performances, and the live orchestra. Ms. Adams appreciated the music and said, "The music is fantastic, the singing is amazing. The soprano and baritone that sang had just amazing voices," she said.

Ms. Adams was touched by the profound message she saw in the performances. "Obviously there's a very clear message's been put out by this performance. And it's been expressed beautifully through the song and dance ... in the passion of their dancing and their performances," she said.

"I'm loving the contrast between the contemporary story and using the folk stories and history as well. It's a beautiful contrast of the classic dance and also the modern as well," she explained.

She said, "It's an all-round extremely entertaining performance, I'll have to bring my daughter next year, she does dance now. She'll love that."
