(Clearwisdom.net) On July 20, 2010, Falun Gong practitioners in Sweden held a series of rallies in Stockholm and Gothenburg to expose the Chinese Communist regime's eleven-year long brutal persecution of Falun Gong and called upon people from all walks of life to work together to stop the persecution.

At 10:00 a.m., practitioners held a rally in front of the Chinese Embassy in Stockholm and the Chinese Consulate in Gothenburg, respectively. They held banners conveying the messages, "Falun Gong practitioners' eleven years of efforts to resist the persecution," and "Support 77 million Chinese people who have quit the CCP and its affiliated organizations." The practitioners demonstrated the exercises opposite the embassy and consulate to peacefully protest the CCP's brutal persecution, raise awareness about the persecution, and advise embassy and consulate staff to quit the CCP.

Many passing cars slowed down, some drivers opened their car windows and asked for informational materials, and some gave us a thumbs-up or honked their horns to show support.

Seeking support

Practitioners arrived at Mynttorget, near the Stockholm Royal Palace at 3:00 p.m. to expose the CCP's atrocities.

Informational photo displays and the practitioners' peaceful exercise demonstration drew the attention of tourists from around the world. They felt sad and indignant upon learning about the CCP's brutal persecution, especially its atrocities of harvesting organs from living Falun Gong practitioners. They signed a petition to condemn the CCP's atrocities and to call for an immediate end to the persecution.

A Spanish couple and their two daughters were traveling in Sweden. They read the Falun Gong flyers and displays carefully, and the whole family signed the petition to oppose the persecution.

MP Cecilia Wigstrom said in an interview that the Falun Gong movement has made great contributions to information flow. They disseminate information through the Internet, television, radio and newspapers, and enable the information to reach Chinese people in mainland China. It is very important to break through the Chinese Communist regime's attempt to maintain its information monopoly in mainland China.

A practitioner from Gothenburg sang a few songs that he composed to explain to the public the persecution of Falun Gong in China. His performance was warmly received.

The rally concluded at 6:00 p.m.

Background

Falun Gong, also known as Falun Dafa, is a traditional Chinese spiritual discipline for mind and body. The practice involves slow, gentle movements and meditation. It is easy to learn, enjoyable to practice, and free of charge. Its principles are based on Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance. The practice began in China in 1992 and quickly spread by word of mouth throughout China and then beyond. Its beneficial effects in uplifting an individual's physical, mental, and spiritual health, not to mention its positive influence in the community and society as a whole, have been undeniable. In fact, Falun Gong is practiced by over 100 million people in 60 countries. The main works of Falun Gong are available in over 30 languages.

On July 20, 1999, the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) launched a brutal persecution of Falun Gong. Since the start of the persecution, Falun Gong practitioners throughout the world have been constantly speaking out about the truth of Falun Gong and exposing the CCP's crimes in a tireless effort to end the persecution.
