(Clearwisdom.net) Chinese Communist Party (CCP's) staff members in Laohutun Town, Wafangdian City, Liaoning Province have recently been putting pressure on village officials to harass Falun Gong practitioners. The local officials are pressuring practitioners to write or sign "four statements" to proclaim that they will stop practicing Falun Gong. The officials threaten practitioners with arrest or brainwashing if they don't sign. They even threaten the practitioners' family members' jobs and their schoolchildren.
In early July 2010, Qu Changbo, the security officer of Shitun Village, Laohutun Town came to practitioner Ms. Zhang Hongyan's home and told her to write a guarantee statement. Ms. Zhang said, "Practicing Falun Gong cured my illnesses and made my body fit. It's not violating the law, and I won't sign."
Two days later, Qu Changbo came to Ms. Zhang's home again and brought with him Shitun Village Party Secretary Qu Changji, Laohutun Town Comprehensive Management Office staff Wu Anqiang and another two people. They threatened her, "If you don't sign, we'll go to your husband's work unit and tell the management to stop your husband from working, and we won't let him go back to work until you sign it." They also threatened her child, "We'll also go to your child's school and tell all the other kids to curse your child, so that your child won't be able to go to school any more." They came to Ms. Zhang Hongyan's home to harass her five times.
Zhang Si, the security officer of Housanshilibao Village, Laohutun Town came to practitioner Mr. Zhao Wanxian's home. Zhang threatened to put Mr. Zhao in a brainwashing center if Mr. Zhao didn't write the "four statements." Zhang also went to Mr. Zhao's brother's home and threatened, "Tell your brother to sign the statements. He'll be arrested if he does not sign." A few days later, Wu Anqiang, Zhang Si, and another two people came to Mr. Zhao's home again to tell him to sign the statements.
