(Clearwisdom.net) Today's News from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 26 cities or counties in ten provinces. In this report, 16 practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention, and at least 49 practitioners were illegally arrested.
1. [Tianjin] Ms. Song Yunling Sent to a Forced Labor Camp--Her Life Is in Danger Due to Persecution
Ms. Song Yunling from the Nankai District of Tianjin, along with six other practitioners, were arrested by officers from Nankai District on June 22, 2010. Ms. Song was sentenced to one and a half years of forced labor. When she refused to wear the prison uniform the guard forcibly stripped off her clothes. To resist the persecution, she started a hunger strike and has been on strike for over a month. Her life is now in danger and she often passes out.
2. [Lianjiang City, Guangdong Province] Ms. Pang Yongfeng Arrested
Ms. Pang Yongfeng from Lianjiang City, in the Zhanjiang Area, was arrested at home by officers from the Domestic Security Division 610 Office before July 20, 2010. She was taken to the Zhanjiang City Brainwashing Center.
3. [Pi County, Sichuan Province] Ms. Zheng Qilan Detained for 15 Days
Luo Yuxin, chief of the Tangyuan Town Police Station in Pi County, along with the village cadres Zhang Qinghua and Yang Zeli, barged into Ms. Zheng Qilan's home and took her Falun Gong books.
Ms. Zheng went to Pi County for grocery shopping on June 17. On her way back home she was stopped by staff from the High-tech Zone Integrated Management Office, who searched her bag without cause and took the Minghui Weekly papers and Shen Yun DVDs from her bag. Ms. Zheng was handcuffed, lifted into the car, and taken to the high-tech zone. At about 6:00 p.m., Ms. Zheng was sent to the Pi County Detention Center for a term of 15 days.
4. [Luzhou City, Sichuan Province] Practitioners Including Ms. Zou Jianzhi Arrested by Officers from the Domestic Security Division
Officers from the Naxi District Domestic Security Division in Luzhou City charged into Mianhuapo Town in Naxi District on August 5, 2010, and arrested Ms. Li Quanying, Ms. Zou Jianzhi, and Mr. Jiang Jirong, and put them in a brainwashing center.
On his way to work on August 11, Mr. Li Shigui from Huayang Township in Jiangyang District, was arrested by officers from the Huayang Township Domestic Security Division in Jiangyang District. At the same time, another group of officers barged into Mr. Liu Kequn's home in Lantian Town and arrested Mr. Liu. Both Mr. Li and Mr. Liu were taken to the Gulin Brainwashing Center.
Mr. Ma Dequn, from Yangqiao Town in Jiangyang District, was arrested on August 12, and taken to the Gulin Brainwashing Center.
5. [Chengdu City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Huang Xiuqing Arrested
Ms. Huang Xiuqing from Chengdu City, was falsely accused by a bus ticket agent when she was using money which had facts about Falun Gong written on it, on the bus from Longquan to Chengdu City, on the afternoon of August 11. She was taken to the Damianpu Police Station and later to the Jianshelu Police Station. Officers ransacked her home that evening.
6. [Hebei Province] Fifth Team of the Shijiazhuang City Forced Labor Camp Denies Visits by Mr. Wu Xiaofei's Family
Mr. Wu Xiaofei from Huaian County in Hebei Province is not a Dafa practitioner. He was nonetheless arrested and held in the Shijiazhuang City Forced Labor Camp because he shared the facts about Falun Gong.

7. [Jilin Province] Guards from Third Ward of Jilin Prison Put Ms. Shi Wenzhuo into Solitary Confinement Again on the Evening of August 8
8. [Taiyuan City, Shanxi Province] Ms. Kong, a Teacher from the Taiyuan City 34th Middle School, Arrested at Home on the Evening of August 12, 2010
9. [Zhuanghe City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Li Guifeng, Ms. Sun Xiuyan, Ms. Sun Xiuli, and Mr. Wang Chuntian Arrested
Qiaotun Village cadre Yin Wanshi led staff from the Guangmingshan Town Government in Zhuanghe City, including Zhang Xiaohui, to barge into Mr. Wang Zhongguo's home in Qiaotun Village, Guangmingshan Town, at about 9:20 a.m. on August 10, 2010. They ransacked Mr. Wang's home and arrested Wang Zhongguo's wife Li Guifeng, as well as Wang Zhongwei's wife Sun Xiuyan. They then barged into Mr. Zhang Xingcai's home in the Changsheng Section and arrested Mr. Zhang's wife Sun Xiuli, taking a computer, a printer and other items.
The officers also arrested Mr. Wang Chuntian from Jinxiangou Village, Guangmingshan Town, and jailed him in the brainwashing center at the Guanai Residential Quarter, Luotaishanzhuang, Fushun City.

10. [Tangshan City, Hebei Province] Seven Practitioners Including Ms. Liu Baoqin Arrested
Seven arrested practitioners from Tangshan City have been taken to the Changningdao Detention Center in Tangshan City. The practitioners include Ms. Liu Baoqin, Ms. Li Yingnan, Mr. Li Hongqi, Ms. Zhang Guofen, Ms. Zhang Guoying, Mr. Dong Peng, and another male practitioner. Ms. Liu Baoqin, Ms. Li Yingnan, and Mr. Li Hongqi are family members.
11. [Tianjin] Ms. Zhang Liqin and Ms. Meng Qingfen Detained for Extended Period
Ms. Meng Qingfen and Ms. Zhang Liqin, from Ji County in Tianjin, were arrested by officers from the Luozhuangzi Police Station on the afternoon of July 27, 2010. They were to be detained for 15 days, but the 15 days has passed, and the Ji County Detention Center still refuses to release them.

12. [Gao City, Hebei Province] Additional Information about the Arrest of Mr. Lu Genfa
Mr. Lu Genfa from Gao City was arrested at his workplace, the Land Management Bureau, by officers from the Gao City Domestic Security Division and staff from the 610 Office at about 9:30 a.m. on August 12, 2010. His home was ransacked and his computer was taken. Mr. Lu is being held in the Shijiazhuang City Brainwashing Center, and even his employer was extorted out of 6,000 yuan.

14. [Baoding City, Hebei Province] Practitioners from Quyang County Arrested
Seven practitioners from Quyang County, Baoding City, Hebei Province, were arrested at about 3:00 p.m. on August 16, 2010. Among them are Ms. An Shuxiang from Yangma Village, Ms. Gao Yuhui, Mr. Wang Zhanshe from Xigounan Village, Mr. Song Zhicun from Quyang County and Mr. Zhao Chunpeng from Zhaochengdong Village.

15. [Laizhou City, Shandong Province] Ms. Zhang Xiuping and Ms. Xiaozhong Arrested
Ms. Zhang Xiuping and Ms. Xiaozhong from Laizhou City, Shandong Province, were arrested at about 9:00 a.m. on August 16, 2010, while they were explaining the facts about Falun Gong to the public at the Nanguan Market in Laizhou City.
16. [Sunwu County, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Wang Xianglan Sent to Heilongjiang Women's Prison
Ms. Wang Xianglan, a senior woman from Sunwu County, was arrested by an officer from the 610 Office while she was explaining the facts about Falun Gong to the public. A court session was opened on June 21, 2010, and Ms. Wang was sentenced to three years and six months of imprisonment. She was sent to the Heilongjiang Women's Prison on July 28, 2010.
Wang Xianglan was sentenced to one year of forced labor in 2000. After that, she was sentenced to one year of imprisonment.
17. [Zhuanghe City, Liaoning Province] Additional Information about the Arrest of Mr. Wang Ruijin
Mr. Wang Ruijin from Qumufang Village, Lizifang, Zhuanghe City, was arrested on August 11, 2010, by Zhang Jitai, the village Party secretary; Wang Xinhai, the village committee director; Liu Mingyou, the accountant; Zhao Dejun from the Committee of Political and Legislative Affairs; and two other officers. Mr. Wang was then taken to the Fushun City Brainwashing Center.
18. [Linyi City, Shandong Province] Mr. Wu Guangyu Arrested
Personnel from the police station, the Integrated Management Office, the 610 Office, and the Domestic Security Division, barged into Mr. Wu Guangyu's home in Dongshuiwang Village, Yaodianzi Town, Yishui County, Linyi City, at about 7:00 a.m. on August 13, 2010. They arrested him and his son (not a practitioner), and stole their valuables. Mr. Wu is being held in the Yishui County Detention Center.

Staff from the Quyang County Government collaborated with officers from the Quyang County Public Security Bureau to arrest Ms. Li Ronghui and ransack her home at about 7:00 a.m. on August 16, 2010.

20. [Qiqihar City, Heilongjiang Province] Practitioners Including Ms. Wang Yufang Arrested
Ms. Wang Yufang from the Angangxi District of Qiqihar City, and a senior practitioner from Tangchi Town in Tailai County, were reported to police while they were handing out materials explaining the facts about Falun Gong in Tangchi Town at about 8:00 p.m. on August 14, 2010. They were arrested and taken to the Qiqihar Detention Center.
21. [Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Wang Lihua Arrested
Ms. Wang Lihu, 54, from the Hulan District of Harbin City, along with other two male practitioners, were reported on by a shop assistant while they were buying goods with money baring facts about Falun Gong at the Hate Mall, in Xidaqiao, Nangang District. They were arrested, and Ms. Wang Lihua is being held in the Harbin Second Detention Center.
22. [Chongqing] Ms. Mu Caifen Arrested
Ms. Mu Caifen was arrested at home at noon on August 10, 2010, by officers from the Domestic Security Division of the Jiangbei District Public Security Bureau, along with officers from the Maoershi Police Station, including Pan Xingzhi, and the director of the Community Resident Committee Cai Mingyong.

23. [Tianjin] Ms. Wang Xiuwen, Ms. Li Chunjuan, and Ms. Dong Huiyue Arrested
Falsely accused, Ms. Wang Xiuwen, Ms. Li Chunjuan, and Ms. Dong Huiyue, three practitioners from Gu Village, Gu Town Center, Dabeijian, Ninghe County, in Tianjin, were arrested by officers from the Gu Town Police Station at Dabeijian at about 10:00 p.m. on August 15, 2010, and their homes were ransacked.

Ms. Huang Guiying and Ms. Yuan Xiaojie from Dalian City, were reported to police and arrested by officers from the Ronghuashan Police Station on August 15, 2010, while they were explaining the facts about Falun Gong at the Ronghuashan Grand Market in Zhuanghe.
27. [Pingdu City, Shandong Province] Ms. Xu Shoumei and Ms. Zhou Mingyue Arrested
Ms. Xu Shoumei and Ms. Zhou Mingyue from Dazeshan Town in Pingdu City, were arrested by officers from the Changle Town Police Station while they were explaining the facts about Falun Gong in Changle Town on the morning of August 15, 2010. They were taken to the Changle Town Police Station and later sent to the Pingdu City Public Security Bureau.

28. [Wenzhou City, Zhejiang Province] Ms. Yuan Yulian Taken to a Brainwashing Center
Ms. Yuan Yulian was arrested at home by staff from the Wenzhou City 610 Office and the Lucheng District 610 Office at about 7:00 a.m. on August 15, 2010. Mr. Yuan was then taken to a brainwashing center.
29. [Jiutai City, Jilin Province] Ms. Xu Yazhen Persecuted
Ms. Xu Yazhen from Jiutai City was arrested and her home ransacked on March 22, 2002, because of a phone call she made. Officers took her into a detention center where the head of the 610 Office Qu Chunshen, had somebody beat her every day and make her sit on a tiger bench.
Ms. Xu was held in a detention center in 2003. Because of the persecution she suffered, her husband fell sick and passed away that year. Ms. Xu was later sentenced to five years of imprisonment. She was forced to sit on a small stool in the prison, for an extended period of time. She was tortured like this for as long as one year and was also not allowed to talk with others. She was often tortured by being suspended from a binding bed or locked in solitary confinement.
30. [Jinan City, Shandong Province] Mr. Hu Tinghao Arrested
Mr. Hu Tinghao from the Huangtai Electricity Plant in Jinan City, was arrested at the end of April, 2010. They stole his computer and other items from his home. Being scared and worried over the persecution of their son, his parents were both hospitalized.
31. [Haicheng City, Liaoning Province] Additional Information about the Arrests of Four Practitioners
Ms. Dai Surong, Ms. Pan Suhua, Ms. Fu Xunxia, and Ms. Sun Suyun from Haicheng City, are being held in the First Detention Center of Anshan Prison.
32. [Shijiazhuang City, Hebei Province] Mr. Cui Guosheng Arrested
Mr. Cui Guosheng from Xili, Qiaoxi District, Shijiazhuang City, was arrested and detained by officers from the Xili Police Station on the evening of August 2, 2010, while he was handing out materials which explained the facts about Falun Gong. The deputy head of Xili Police Station led several officers to barge into Mr. Cui's home at about 10:00 p.m. and ransack it. They took Falun Gong books, materials explaining the facts about Falun Gong, a computer, and other items. One week later, Mr. Cui was sentenced to one year of forced labor.
33. [Liuhe County, Jilin Province] Mr. Zhou Xianqing and Ms. Chen Xiuying Detained
Mr. Zhou Xianqing and Ms. Chen Xiuying were reported to police at noon on August 14, 2010, while they were handing out materials which explained the facts about Falun Gong in Xinli Village. They were arrested and are being held in the Jianshe Police Station at Liuhe County.

34. [Dalian City, Liaoning Province] Mr. Chen Xin and Mr. She Yue Being Held in Jinzhou Prison in Liaoning Province
Mr. Chen Xi's family and Mr. She Yue' s family went from Dalian City to the Jinzhou Prison on August 6, 2010, to meet Mr. Chen and Mr. She respectively. The head of the Jinzhou Prison imperiously refused their requests and called the guards to drive them away.
35. [Wuhan City, Hubei Province] Mr. Tang Haian Arrested
Mr. Tang Haian from Wuchang, Wuhan City was arrested by officers from the Meiyuan Police Station in Wuhan City on the morning of August 16, 2010. His computer and other items were taken.
36. [Huangmei County, Hubei Province] Mr. Fei Jinguo and His Wife Harassed by Officers from the Liuzuo Township Police Station
Officers from the Liuzuo Township Police Station in Huangmei County twice harassed Mr. Fei Jinguo and his wife, from Liuzuo Township, on August 13, 2010 and August 16, 2010. Officers took Falun Gong books and tried to force Mr. Fei and his wife to smash their photo frames that contained pictures of the founder of Falun Gong.
