(Clearwisdom.net) The 610 Office of Tangshan, Hebei Province, started another round of massive persecution of Falun Gong practitioners in order to cooperate with the August 21 visit to Tangshan of Jiang Zemin, the CCP leader who began the persecution of Falun Gong. About 20 practitioners were recently arrested. Eight practitioners are still being held in Changningdao Detention Center in Tangshan.
On August 11, police from the Domestic Security Bureau of Tangshan and officials from the Neighborhood Office of Jianshe Road surrounded the home of practitioner Ms. Liu Baoqin. They started to break down the door in the middle of the night. Later they broke the anti-theft steel barrier outside the window facing north. After they broke in, they broke the kitchen door, ransacked the home, and took Ms. Liu, her husband Li Hongqi, and their daughter Li Yingnan to Tangshan Detention Center.
That same night, officers from the Wenhualu Police Station in Tangshan arrested many practitioners. Ms. Li Guomin's home was ransacked. She got away, but her husband was taken. Later they arrested Tangshan Steel Hospital practitioners Ms. Zhang Guofen and her sister, Ms. Zhang Guoying. Kailuan Energy Institute faculty member Mr. Dong Peng and another male practitioner were also taken to Tangshan Detention Center. After 2 a.m. on August 11, officers from Wenhualu Police Station also searched a resident in the district. Currently, Ms. Zhang Guofen, Ms. Zhang Guoying, Mr. Dong Peng and the other practitioner are still in Tangshan Detention Center.
Around 10 a.m. on August 11, 2010, agents from the Fengrun District Public Security Bureau, the 610 Office, and the Domestic Security Bureau searched hundreds of pedestrians passing by. Over ten practitioners were forcibly arrested. They have gradually been allowed to go home.
Around 11a.m. on August 16, railroad employee Ms. Ma Lili was arrested by police from Jianguolu Market Police Station near Jianguolu Market in the Lunan District. Around 5p.m. that same day, she was taken to Changningdao Detention Center.
