(Clearwisdom.net) Sunday, September 25, 2011, was a clear day in Montreal's Chinatown. Passersby saw the Falun Gong booth and practitioners doing the exercises at Chungshan Park as they do each weekend. The solemn and peaceful scene attracted some people, getting them to stand aside and watch. Dr. Ahmed, a genetics researcher at Royal Victoria Hospital, was one of them.

Ahmed has been doing research in genetics for over a decade. The deeper his research goes, the more he feels that science is limited. He has wanted to learn something beyond the confines of human knowledge but for years he couldn't find it. Today, while looking at the peaceful Falun Gong exercise movements and reading an introduction to the practice, he felt there was something special.

Ahmed is very interested in anything related to life and health. While talking to a Falun Gong practitioner, the tremendous healing effects of Falun Gong caused great interest. He believed this might hold the key to exploring the mystery of life.

“How can practicing Falun Gong restore one's health in a short period of time? What great power behind it causes such a miracle?” he asked.

The practitioner answered, “The great power is the characteristic of the universe: Truthfulness- Compassion-Forbearance. When a person follows this principle and becomes more truthful, compassionate, and tolerant in his daily life, he is getting rid of bad elements. Illness is something bad, so it will be eliminated. When a person is conforming to the characteristic of the universe, one becomes connected to the universe. Thus, one's body becomes a small universe inside the greater universe.”

From watching the exercises, to talking with a practitioner about Falun Gong and how to learn it, Ahmed spent four hours at the site. When he was leaving, he said, “The human body is a small universe. This is a very deep understanding. I only know a little about the things you talked after so many years of research. The Falun Gong book must be an extraordinary book and the author must be a great person. I must read it.”
