(Clearwisdom.net) Mr. Liu Yongjin, a practitioner in Linyi City, Shandong Province, was arrested and sentenced to seven years in prison. He was taken to Tai'an Prison on June 18, 2008 and has been subjected to torture ever since. He was beaten repeatedly for a week.
In June 2011, Mr. Liu was incarcerated in the No. 1 Ward and considered as one of their main targets of its "Breaking the Steadfast Ones" initiative to force those with strong faith in Falun Gong to renounce their beliefs. In order to fulfill their tasks, the monitoring personnel beat and kicked Mr. Liu. As a result, Mr. Liu had many bruises on his body and face and had difficulty walking. The guards gave term reductions to those inmates who joined the persecution effort.
Torture re-enactment: Severely beating practitioners
In August 2011, under the order of division head Zhu Xuhu and political instructor Lu Wenfeng, inmates Wang Yibing, Yuan Xinke, Sun Qiming, Zheng Quansheng, Zhu Peijun and others started another round of abuse toward Mr. Liu. They beat him repeatedly for a week, and Mr. Liu was covered with wounds and couldn't walk. In order to cover up their crimes, they forced Mr. Liu to wash off the blood on his face before he went to the restroom. Mr. Liu went on a hunger strike from August 20 - 23 to protest the persecution. He submitted his appeal again, stating that he was innocent and practicing Falun Gong was not a crime. According to an information source, the prison denied Mr. Liu's appeal.
In October 2011, the No.1 Ward started another round of persecution to practitioners.
