(Clearwisdom.net) On the morning of September 15, 2011, Falun Gong practitioners Mr. Li Min (42) and his wife Ms. Liu Qing (36) from Changping District, Beijing, were getting ready to go to work. They were at the entrance of their apartment building located at the First Area of Tiantongyuan West residential place when they were arrested by plainclothes officers from Changping Police Department, Dongxiaokou Police Station, and staff from the Dongxiaokou Town 610 Office.
Ms. Liu was put into a black car. She shouted, “The police are arresting good people!” She drew attention from neighbors and others who were passing by. Ms. Liu was taken to Dongxiaokou Police Station and then to Changping Brainwashing Center.
The arrest of the couple caused great pain and irrecoverable losses to their family. Mr. Li's parents and uncle, all over 70 years old, were living with the couple. The uncle was just back from the hospital and couldn't take care of himself. Right now, he is relying on Mr. Li's mother to take care of him. The three seniors were all greatly affected and their health conditions are getting worse. Mr. Li's father misses the couple a great deal and is often in tears.
Ms. Liu's 90-year-old grandmother was in good health but suddenly passed away on October 14. On October 15, the family went to the 610 Office to ask for Ms. Liu's release so that she could go to the funeral. Ms. Liu had to sign a guarantee that she would return to the brainwashing center the next day and was then led to attend the funeral.
The arrest has given Ms. Liu a lifetime of regret because she did not get to see her grandmother one last time, with whom she lived through all of her childhood. Ms. Liu's mother was hit hard by both of these misfortunes. Ms. Liu's older sister had just given birth and needed others to help take care of her and her child. Now, all of these things are on Ms. Liu's shoulders, alone, because Mr. Li is still held in the brainwashing center.
